Can you get "special treatment" at work , OR are you still expected to work 40 hours a week?

I take 1 in the morning and 2 at night---glucophage. I am just sooooo tired all day. I get plenty of sleep.

I also take glucophage (Metformin...the generic version). I only experienced the fatigue symptom for the first few weeks. So, if you are new to it, it just might take time.

But, I have taken allergy meds before that have made me so tired I didn't feel like I could perform my job very well. I don't think any employer will let you off the hook for being on medication. But I'm sure yours would let you sneak out for some fresh air and sunlight to help wake you up. Or you can always take a quick walk down the hall and find a friend to chat with to wake you up.

If you're on glucophage you must have issues with sugar and insulin, so avoid all refined sugar and caffine like the plague! This will only make you more tired.

One last thing...one of the side effects of glucophage is increased fertility (for women with infertility issues). Could you be pregnant?

Try to take your meds only at night. If this isn't possible, let your employer know the circumstances. If you have an injury that happened at work, they have to give you "special treatment" ie, light duty or reduced responsibilities. If the injury happened outside of the workplace, they might not be so understanding. In either case, get a doctors note explaining the situation to your employer. Good Luck.

Talk to your pharmacist and doctor about it. It could be a normal side effect, or it could be a reaction to the medicine.
