Remember, Muslims make the retroactive claim that Allah is the same God of the Jews and Christians, and thus made revelations to Jews and Christians, however, those pesky Jews and Christians "corrupted" the word of God and thus, God (Allah) revealed himself yet again in the Quran!
Does this make sense? Muslims claim that the Jews and Christians BEFORE Islam were Muslims, and these Muslims corrupted the text of Allah, so Allah revealed himself yet a third time in the Quran, were somehow the modern day Muslim doesnt somehow corrupt the text of the Quran. What?????
"Ahh...but Allah protects the Quran, today where he didnt protect his Bible and Torah or yesterday!"
What!!!!! Is Allah and idiot!!!
Why would Allah, who can protect or preserve anything, NOT protect the bible and torah only to later change his mind like some infant in the toy store, and decide to finally protect his works? Didnt Allah know he would create 3 fricking religions as a result who would fight each other

The Torah and the Gospels had become perverted by human activity when the Qu'ran was delivered through the prophet Mohammad. This was the purpose of the revelation of the Gospels through Jesus. God had seen that the Torah had been modified to lead the Muslims (a generic term for people of God) astray. Jesus delivered the second of the holy books the Gospels. The power of the Gospels challenged the Roman empire immediately so in a true Machiavellian move the Romans hijacked the Gospels a rewrote them to consolidate their power into the Holy Roman Empire. The Qu'ran is the last of the three holy books and spells out plainly the instructions of God to walk the right path. It has been protected by God up until this final age when it has also been "hijacked" by modern extremists. This is clearly a sign that the end of this modern (since Noah) human age is near. Beware to walk the right path and seek the grace of the One True God.

For the same reason He revealed the Old and New Testaments -- to teach us how to live.
As to Jews and Christians being Muslims -- since a Muslim is simply one who submits to the Will of God, this is technically correct. Or do you claim that Jews and Christians do not obey God?

get a life steve, live and let live, that is how I interpret my Islam. Yes I think my religion complete and correct, yet I do not go around telling every non-Muslim that they are wrong. who is right who is wrong we will find out on the day of resurrection, at least we all (Muslims, Christians and Jews) agree on one of those. Other than that spend more time on learning about your religion, if you don't understand something like this then ask politely.
Here is what I understand, Allah revealed the Quran as "final" of his teachings for the mankind. It was man in the last so many centuries that changed the words in Bible and it was man who saved the original version of te Quran for so many centuries. I beleive it is somewhere in Egypt and to date anyone can pick up a Quran and compare it word to word from the original one. Yet if you go to look for a bible then there are tens of versions, that makes one wonder, so whose is the correct one. Yet it is your beleif and you have to answer this question, not me.
Religions in general teach peace, if this what you are, then you are no different from the terrorists blowing up places or mercinaries that are killing innocent people day in and day out. they are doing their best and it appears that you are doing yours.
If you want others to know that your religion is perfect, then impress them with your knowledge, show around the good in your teachings. If you go around pulling legs of others, no one is going to find you goo anyways,

Just to answer you original question. So that he could raise an army for his conquests. He was a control freak. Oh, by the way, that was also how he 'converted' the Arab/Muslim world, by conquest. He started small, a village at a time, and as his army grew, he conquered larger bands and cities, then finely country's, and when he died, others took over and formed alliance's within themselves to keep the thing going.

Oh come on everyone knows the truth that Islam and the Qur’an is a mere 1,400 year old badly re written version of the 2,000 year old Christian religion! Whilst imitation is said to be the sincerest form of flattery no imitation can ever be better than the original and we know that is false!

Human beings who are always in doubt (like the asked of this question) always need someone to "follow up" with them...Allah first gave them Judaism, most of them didn't respect it, and many wrong things happened...Then he gave them Christianity, and I dont need to tell you all what went wrong...Then finally, he gave them a third and final chance with Islam and the Holy Quran
About preserving the Holy Books, Allah preserved his books from altering, but people still insisted on disobeying him. But the Quran is the only book that's still unchanged, and many Christians and Jews I know admit that to me...May Allah bless us all

You assume that Allah cares one way or another about what books we read. Is it possible that Allah loves us all and would never need to harm any of us?
Humanity created these religions and it is humanity that chooses to fight. More specifically, militant jihadists against the West and Jews.

Allah revealed the Holy Koran because the teachings of Jesus(PBUH) and of Abraham(PBUH) had not been adhered to and had been corrupted so he revealed the Holy Koran to Mohamed(PBUH) as a last attempt to encourage us to follow his ways,and obey his Laws.

Allah did not... satan inspired a petty warlord wan-a-be to come up with it... just an other deception to keep as many as possable from comeing to God... a very sucessful deception.
