Ringworm

Ringworm infections are caused by a fungus. This fungus is called dermatophyte-type fungus. This fungus causes ringworm in human body at different places. The infections caused by ringworm infections are also called tinea infections. Commonly ringworm affects the toes (athlete's foot), groin (ringworm of the groin) and body (ringworm of the body).

This fungus thrives in warm and humid environment. It is contagious. It can be transferred from animals to human beings and from a human being to another human being. If you have ringworm at one place in the body and if you scratch that place and then touch another place, you can infect yourself at another place in the body.

Ringworm is a fungal infection of the skin. It causes intense itching and usually appears as a somewhat circular, red, scaly rash. You can try an OTC antifungal and if that doesn't help you will need to see a doctor. Most antifungals must be used for a long course of treatment, at least a month.

Yes. It is a fungal infection. And it looks just like it sounds. It is a rash that is a ring or a circle on the skin. It can appear anywhere on the body. If you believe you have it, go to the store and get an anti-fungal ointment.

Ringwork usually looks like a round, red circle on your skin. The outer circle is darker and raised, and the inside may begin to heal and return to normal skin color the longer it lasts. The patch will feel scaly, and if it goes untreated for long enough it may begin to blister. It may also spread if gone untreated. It is most common on the scalp, feet, groin, and nails, but I had it on my collarbone area. It can be treated easily with Tinactin from any drug store or from a store like Target.

My son had it on his knee a few years ago. It started out as a thin round red ring that was a little raised. The ring then got thicker. It didn't seem to itch him. We applied a prescription cream from the pediatrician for about two weeks before it disappeared.
