you're going to Portugal...not Australia !! Time difference one hour, plus you are on holiday !!! Do you speak to a doctor on a regular occasion ?? If not you may need to. The average human needs approx 8 hours sleep. If you are asleep at 8pm then you will have the required amount. However, you are going on holiday...does it really matter ?

Even you plan to sleep for 8 hrs and traveling overseas, you will be still tired once you get there, its called jet lag however if you all well prepared and all packed up. Have your clothes laid out, good breakfast, shower the night before, your ticket in your sight next to your keys. You will be alright. Happy flight!

You'll still be tired because you are dirupting your normal sleep pattern and you may find that going to bed at that time you may not be able to sleep. Tiredness shouldn't bother you to much if you are looking forward to your hol, the buzz of actually going will get you over it!!
Have a great hol!!!

If you're able to go to sleep at 8pm, sure. But the important thing is when you get to your destination, switch to their schedule right away (don't nap during the day) and you should be fine.
