is it ok for a 15 year-old male to date an 17 year old female?

I'm 15 and i really like this 17 year-old in my school...one problem is that she has a boyfriend who is a complete show-off and he's kinda stupid...if in anyway she broke up with him, do i have a chance, i really like some help...

you are 2 years apart so yes it is ok to go out with a 17 year old female
