This guy and I have been emailing almost daily for 3 months and dating for 2. We really like each other and he mentioned it would be nice someday if I could perhaps move in with him. Now the problem. His house is the messiest, most cluttered that I have EVER seen! There is no way I could ever live there. He says he will fix it up but think he has a severe pack-rat personality and will never change. I am starting to lose respect for him. Should I continue to see him? Am I wasting his time + mine? I just can't think of a possible solution to this dilemna.

Your opening line...tells us, that there is most definately a problem. First of all...several months of dating and chatting is barely a basis to jump full throttle. Let's get right to, the main problem: his hous is a mess. YOU can NOT change a person. If he likes "stuff"...he will always like stuff. If you are a neat freak...it will drive you more crazy than him...LOOK, it already has...and you don't even live with him. You could hire a house maid...make compromises...but, if you are already "loosing respect"- its a warning sign.

Yikes! most guys' rooms are like junkyards, but it doesnt mean he loves u any less. everyone has a different take on what's messy and what's not, so i'll give u the benefit of the doubt that it's the worst kind. I think sit him down and have a nice good talk about this. Be reassuring and make sure he understands where u come from. Because if he loves you, he'll understand & will try to compromise. Give him time maybe he'll slowly learn to be more tidy, in the meantime, list out how you will help him to improve his environment...maybe help to tidy bit by bit...i think it would work out....

why dont u just tell him your issues. be honest with him and see how he takes it. he might need someone to tell him he is a pig and might change his ways
