whats better and accurate?blood tests or saliva tests?

If you are talking about genetic testing, then any somatic cell that contains DNA will work. You can obtain those from blood, saliva, etc.

If you are talking about drug testing, then blood is still considered the gold standard, though hair analysis will detect drug exposure that occured further in the past.

Depends on wht u r testing for........n blood tests r more reliable n accurate for many of the diseases n are best indicators where as saliva has little segniface when it comes to test the complicated things.

It has been proven in most cases that blood test are more accurate but they can still glean info from saliva test. Also, some test such as DNA testing and hormone tests saliva testing is more accurate.

For DNA testing both saliva and blood is fine.

It depends on what you are testing for. If you are referring to a DNA test , its not actually the saliva thats tested. Its a swab of cells on the inside of your mouth, called a buccal swab. Its just as accurate as a blood DNA test and is less invasive and more sanitary.

I go for saliva testing.. :)
reason: because u see we shud be odd and also im meerly guessing.. i think some where few years back i read ..!!

saliva contains the epithelial cells from the bucal mucosa ,they could be tested for DNA ,blood could be tested for chemisry,cytology,DNA,toxicology,culture,RNA...

for what test?

blood typing? if it is for blood typing, you should have the secretor gene to secrete ABO antigens in body fluids.
