I had Shingles for the first time a few weeks ago. I am normally in good health and haven't had any other health challenges before, so it came as a surprise.
Shingles is probably the most painful thing I have ever encountered. I went to the doctor, and he gave me some prescription drugs to take that was suposed to help, but didn't.
My wife found the Fast Shingles Cure ebook online and bought it for me, I am very lucky to have such a wonderful woman in my life. We followed the book, did what it said, and it delivered what it promised. Finally my Shingles rash is over... I feel truly blessed and thankful.

You can get chicken pox, but usually not shingles. Shingles comes from when you get older and you've usally had a mild case of chicken pox and the virus is still in your system and it reactivates causing sores on your back. It's really painful to have and most people who get it are alot older and they've usually had chicken pox before. I wouldn't worry to much about shingles just make sure that your washing your hands alot and if you hold or touch her little brother that you don't touch you eye, mouth or any open sores. Also probably not a good idea to be around him if at all possible. Chicken pox is pretty easy to catch when it is still contagious. Hopes this helps

You CANNOT get shingles unless you have had the chicken pox. The virus that causes chicken pox will lie dormant in the nerve roots until something triggers it to travel to the nerve endings causing a case of shingles. You should be more concerned about getting chicken pox since that comes before shingles and you haven't had it yet. Chicken pox is a droplet contamination so unless you come into contact with the infected person you should not get them.

You can not get shingles. you can get chicken pox. please do not worry.
Shingles
Shingles, correctly called as herpes zoster, is a painful skin disease. In this, a virus that also causes chicken pox affects the skin and creates bands of blisters which are full of liquid, pus, etc. The disease settles over two to three weeks but the pain may remain for a month after that. Those who have had chicken pox in childhood are likely to get shingles as they age. Why do some people get shingles and others don't, is not known. Lets find out more about it.

You won't get shingles, but you may get chicken pox (if you are around her brother) which can be very nasty when you're older.
In order to get shingles you will have needed to already have chicken pox. Shingles comes from the chicken pox that lie dorment in your body once you have had them. Often shingles is stress induced.
I had shingles years ago and was given this info by my doctor.

Shingles is a reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus, a type of herpes virus that causes chickenpox. Once you have had chickenpox, the virus lies inactive in your nerve roots and remains inactive until, in some people, it flares up again. When the virus becomes active again, you develop shingles instead of chickenpox.
Anyone who has had even a mild case of chickenpox can get shingles. People who have a weak immune system are vulnerable to reactivation of the virus that causes shingles. Many factors can weaken your immune system, including aging, injury, and illness. Some medications slow down the immune system; for example, medications that destroy cancer cells (chemotherapy) also interfere with the immune system.
also once you get the shingles that stays forever too. It is stress induced as well as far as if you get another outbreak.
This is what the docs told my dad.
My dad had shingles when I was preggers with my daughter, so I had to stay away from him until his outbreak cleared up.

You could be exposed to the virus that causes chicken pox and shingles. It is more likley that you would get chicken pox though than shingles at this point.

If I am not mistaking you can be exposed up to a month before breaking out to chicken pox or shingles. I know that my daughter had them ( we didn't know it) and my dad got the shingles a month later. Sorry
