See an attorney, they can tell you. But make sure you ask all the right questions. Make a list before you go.
Do you want contact with your kids? Do you care about there they live? Will you want to have them a part of your life when older? Do you want to do this just so that you dont pay child support? How will it hurt your relationship with your children? Who will care enough about you when you get old? Who will care when you get sick or if you were to be on the road to death? Where will your money go when you get old, you cant take it with you? Do you think it will make your x-spouce happy? What about your happiness or your kids? Do you think your kids may want a relationship with their father or mother?
Start you list and then decide. Is this best for me? Best for my x spouce? For my kids?

My guess is that if you are asking that question, someone will most likely approach you and ask you to do so. It would be done through the courts. A social worker, child protective service worker or an attorney would handle it. If you are trying to avoid paying support, it may not work though.

first how old are you ?and why do you want to do this?
i am not going to judge you everyone has a right to do so but if you do this because you truly cant take care of your child then it is best ........but if you are a child your self then you need to see if someone in your family will take the baby so that you can see the baby grow up and see the things they do.........a gift of a baby is so important that you really need to think before you act and take the time to talk to your family and the partners to do what is best for all .........but if you are going to do this then you have to go to your court house and talk with them..........good luck and my best wishes to you

if you want to give up your parental rights go see the other parent of the child and tell them you want to give up your rights as a parent tell him/her to go to court you will show up that day and that is it no more child
however do not ever see the child again or even think of it

First off- it's not up to just you. The other parent must agree. Unless they agree you still have to pay child support.

here is the child? is he/she/they in your custody? most states have safe haven laws where you can LEGALLY and WITHOUT reciprocation drop your children off, you have to find designated places-usually hospital and firehouses. You can go to court and just say you wish to put the children into foster care because you are unfit and then from there you will follow procedure to allow them to be put up for adoption. Unless you have a family member you wish to give them to them Advise you get legal aid-or go to local dept. of child welfare and tell them you wish to hand off your rights, that you are unfit and wish to have a family member adopt them-they will have to undergo evaluation and home studies to adopt children though. good luck it is easier to get kids taken then it is to give them up before you cross the line-the system SUCKS!

Well first I can't believe you'd want to but that's beside the point. Generally you can only do that if you have someone else who is willing & able to adopt them right away.
