What works for me is taking calcium supplements a little before and during my period (helps immensely). I try to make sure that I am working out when I'm not on my period, because (somehow) that helps! Also, stay away from soda, chocolate, and anything with caffeine because that depletes the calcium in your system. And if you're not bedridden with them, try to "walk it off" so to speak. That won't get rid of them, but it does distract.
Good luck! Death to cramps!! Hahaha!

I used to have really bad cramps and I got on birth control to regulate my period and now my cramps are a lot less noticeable. This may not be the right answer for you but may be something to look into. Also if you exercise regularly it makes them less painful (not sure why) but that is what they say. A heating pad may do wonders as well. Hope this is helpful in some way.

I used to have horrible cramps and the things that work best for me are taking advil (2) and then taking either a hot bath or using a hot compress on my stomache. Hope this helps and good luck.

Take Naproxen Sodium. Brand name is Aleve, but the generics work just as well. Exercise. For really intense cramps you can pinch the web of skin between your thumb and index finger. I use the pad of my thumb and knuckle of my index finger and apply firm pressure. You may have to feel around a bit to find the exact spot, but it really works. Accupressure point or something.

There's a pressure point on your ankle, directly beneath your ankle bone, in the fleshy part between the bones. If you press hard on both sides for about 5 minutes, your cramps will go away.

Eat a banana every day. Also, if it's very hot where you are causing you to perspire a lot, you may need more salt on your food.
