of course...I think maybe 5 dollars per 25 spent. I think it is just a good gesture. I think that that also makes you and your puppy stand out...so he will probably get better service. Just me...

Being a groomer, we appreciate tips.. Not just because it gives up some spending cash, but it makes us feel like the owner really appreciates how much work goes into grooming a dog and that they are happy with the job we do. However, we do not expect them.

Alot of us groomers will save up our tips to go to grooming related trade shows to keep up to date on things, or to buy a new piece of equipt so we can serve our clients better.

I don't think there really is a set amount for tips. I've gotten tips anywhere from $1 to $50. But usually between $2-$5 seems to be the average per dog.

Some of my customers don't tip anything all year long and then come Christmas they will give me a huge tip, or a present (which is very nice and adds a personal touch)

Yes. Just like any other personal service provider, your pet groomer will always appreciate being tipped.
I own my own mobile grooming business and while I don't expect people to tip I do appreciate it. I have some that add $5-$20 per pet. Then I have some other people who wait to the end of the year and give me a nice holiday gift tip which has ranged from a few dollars to a tip equal to the grooming charge. Then there are the sweet people who give me non money gifts and those are also very appreciated. But most of all, a Thank You, good job is very nice to hear.

yes tip your dog groomer I believe 15% is standard but if his/her care is exceptional you can always give more of course if the care is not what you think it should be then less or no tip would be appropriate. In that case I'd find a different groomer

I'm a dog groomer and even though we don't expect tips it's always nice when our customers do give us a tip (most tip between $2 - $10 depending on how often they come in and how unrully their doggy can be........hehehe). Sometimes customers just bring us a box of doughnuts or chocolates and that is nice too.

you should always tip people when in comes to service. my groomer costs $20 and i tip them $5. and it also depends if your dog is wild and it's a huge struggle to do a task, then you should tip them a little more. but if they do a crappy job then i don't tip them as much.

I agree with ransdoll90, i have a cocker spaniel and we live in a fairly small town, so anyone who lives here takes their dog there, being the only place in town :) I think that as a good gesture and to make sure you get the best service possible you should.... but thats just me, im not sure if its "required" so to speak

10-20% falls within the acceptable norm I think for this type of service (same with hairstylists). Good thing to remember is that if you are a "big" tipper, they'll remember that and likely take extra special care of you as a thank you for it.

I think so. I would think the standard 10-15% range is appropriate.
