It is called Brewer's yeast, and it works. I sometimes mix and egg, one TSP olive oil together (as a treat) which helps the skin, coat, and works as flea control, too. My kitten loves this.
Good Luck!

There's something called Only Natural Pet All-in-One Flea remedy.
Finally, a natural solution to flea control for your pets and your home that is safe, effective, and affordable! Only Natural Pet All-in-One Flea Remedy is the one solution to rid your dogs, cats, carpet, furniture, and pet bedding of those annoying fleas. No more fur scratching, no more ankle bites, no more black flecks in the carpet. With this amazing product you will see a difference within days, and it will make your pets and your house flea-free within weeks - with no chemicals, toxins, fumes, injections, or unnatural substances. It is completely safe (safe enough to eat!) and will not harm you, your children, your pets, your carpet, or your furniture.
Only Natural Pet All-in-One Flea Remedy is an odorless powder that can be applied directly to the fur of a dog or cat and sprinkled on your carpet, hardwood floors, baseboards, furniture, and pet bedding. You can even sprinkle it in your lawn or garden where your pets roam. Its primary ingredient is diatomaceous earth, a natural flea treatment that has been used for hundreds of years. As soon as fleas come into contact with it they become dehydrated and die. It's that simple! And fleas cannot build up an immunity to it because it works mechanically, not chemically.
It seems like I've seen another product like this one awhile back but I can't remember the name. I'll have to do some more research.

I don't know, but putting garlic in their food can help, and I have a friend who makes a wormwood solution and sprays it on the pets and their beds (don't feed them wormwood, though, it's poisonous)
