The reason your children are not sick is due to a phenomenon called "herd immunity." If 100 people are in a room and 99 of them are vaccinated against a particular disease, that 1 person who is NOT vaccinated has a high probability of not getting the disease as well. Why? The rest of the "herd" is not sick and therefore has nothing to pass on to that one person! It is an individual decision whether or not to vaccinate your children. Often times the benfit of the vaccination out weighs the risk of getting sick. In this day and age, many bacteria are becoming increasingly more resistant to antibiotics. I work in a Children's hospital and we still see patients come in with encephalitis and secondary infections from chickenpox. And I don't know of any vaccinations that have "caused" diseases. Also vaccinations do not make the claim of "curing" what they are being used for.
I believe we are entitled to our opinions. But I think it unneccesary to accuse others of being "crazy" if we choose to vaccinate our children. Incidentally, both my boys have been fully vaccinated and there isn't anything wrong with them either.

Indeed vaccination is injecting a virus to your body but this virus is weak. This weak virus won't get your children sick for the rest of their lives because they've already been expose to this virus through the vaccine. You're children is very lucky now that they havent catch the virus but what happens if you tour around the world and unexpectedly catch a single strain of pollo virus or even measles? These illness may kill them without having any protection. Having your child not exposed to the virus through the vaccine will put him/her in great danger. Lets put it this way, vaccination is not that expensive as you think it is compared to the cure. Do you know how many procedures and testing you children will go through if ever they get the preventable virus? a lot. I suggest you should do more research about this before you put your kids into danger.

When you don't get your children immunized, you are possibly spreding diseases that could be non-existent if we keep immunizing our children against it and start getting 3rd world countries vaccinated. Small Pox has been eradicated from the earth - not measels, but that is the example of why it is pushed. There are so many new diseases and sicknesses to worry about - why worry about something that can be taken care of? As far as injecting them with the virus, most vaccines are killed virus' and some people may have a slight reaction, but the benefit outweighs the risk. Why would you want to possibly see your children suffer from something that could have been prevented?

the injection itself is with weakened virus, so the body will be able to fight it, it will produce a lot of anti virus cells and finally and will become immune against that virus...
this is what was preached to us since childhood... and which seems very logical...but is nonsense in deed. before i go to far with my unprofessional explanations, you better read this:

Hell i should not have read those answers around me. Medicine has been industrialized long time ago. And as any Industry, they are out for profit. They will make you sick if you won't become it by yourself. Then one medication will need another, to cure the side effects from the previous.
Marihuana was in the beginning of 20-th century a very famous medicine, but got prohibited and is illegal up to now. Why, because the pharmaceutic industry, could not keep it up with such a concurrence beside them. Effective, cheap, minor (even welcome) sideeffects, fast, and multiporposed, all what the modern medicine could and can not offer.
Yeah, to the third world "vaccinator" from the first??? world below me... HIV was created by medicating people, who was never medicated before, who's parents, grandparents and so on, never were medicated by chemical drugs. The effect of those experiments was... a complete atrophy of immunity... which is HIV \ AIDS. Those new deceases, lethal, horrible... guess how they come upon us. By the same industry that promises to cure us from them, for money.
Why so many old, known deceases are disappeared?...Well it is about better hygienic, and a different way of life, with less physical tensions. But for that, the growing number of psychiatrists is scary...isn't it?
You know those cholesterol reducing medications???? It's all bullshit. There is no need to reduce it, and there is no harm by cholesterol, it is all a big fake! And everyone eats that ****,some believe even it is the way to loose weight.
Does anyone realize that most of those approved medications are health damaging, not tested proper and by times experimental. That any doctor will give you a huge amount on tablets, drops and on for a simple thing, that can be cured by some herbal-tea and simple rest...?
Amen... take your pills guys, watch more TV and Doctor ?House?, and be happy... like cattle.

Well, I have to say that your kids are the luckiest people on the face of the earth.
I sure wouldn't want to be a boy who didn't get the mumps vaccine (it makes them sterile).
And thank GOD my mother had the foresight to get my polio vaccine done - I LOVE walking around on my own two legs and breathing on my own.
Or how about the fact that SMALL POX has been completely eradicated from the face of the earth??!
How about tetanus? Ever watched someone die of lock-jaw? NOT pretty.
You, my friend are ridiculously misguided and poorly informed and undereducated in the ways of the medical world.
I hope that for your sake and those of your children and grandchildren that you continue to be so lucky - the diseases that vaccinations prevent are probably the second worst way to die or heaven forbid - survive.

its totally your choice whether to vaccinate or not but the whole point of doing so is to stop the spread of these life threatening diseases. We just had our baby vaccinated with the mmr and were scared because of all the hype over side effects (autism etc), but I think its better to vaccinate than not. Look at all those people in these poor countries such as Africa who are dying from these easily preventable diseases such as measles. We are fortunate to be able to have the choice in the first place.
