I have known this girl for a very long time. She has always been very concerned about her appearance. We lost touch for a few years, but I was talking to her on the phone recently and catching up and she was talking about her soon-to-be-husband (whom I also know..) She said:
"When I first met him he told me that we could only be friends because I was too big for him. I had just had a baby and I was 140pds. At 5'2". He emailed me the entire time he was overseas, when he came back and saw that I lost weight, back at 102pds and he couldn't keep his hands off me. I was like "ooooh...NOOOOW you want me.."
I was listening to her thinking "huh..I wonder what would happen if she gained weight back."
Girls, would you marry a guy who didn't want you the way you are regardless?
Guys, would you only be friends with a girl just because her size even if it was just baby weight?

Well, I guess is she was an overweight unwed mother with no husband in the picture, she'd be willing to grab a moronic, shallow jerk. Desperate times call for desperate measures, huh? I predict she'll be knocked up again within the year, and probably divorced by the time the baby is 2.
To answer your question: no. I wouldn't marry him because I wouldn't even date him. But being married, I feel it's my obligation to keep healthy, fit and attractive for myself and my husband, and he loves me even when I'm a mess.

Thats ridiculous. I know this married couple who actually have a contract. If the wife gains any weight, he will divorce her. She has to constantly work out and watch what she eats. She is NOT happy at all.. but cant leave him. He has a lot of money and has her by the hair pretty much. It's not a good thing to get involved in.
I feel bad for your friend because she must care for him a lot. But if she gained the weight back, I dont think he would wanna be with her anymore. Please try to talk to her and tell her this, just be a friend to her. Thats what she needs. I know I wouldnt want to see my friend miserable for the rest of her life (or at least until she gained a few pounds)...
Good luck with that.

People like particulars things about people they met. Why not know what the guy wants before you get in the relationship. Its her choice now she knows how he is so dont be suprised if he leaves when she can no longer fit a size 2

I think that you should accept someone for who they are. If they want to change (lose weight, quit smoking whatever) you should be supportive but not bossy.
Once, someone I loved told me I had a "great ***" as he cupped it in his hands. Then he said "you just need to work on this" and patted my hip. It absolutely CRUSHED me. Even now, the memory still hurts.

Wow....What a shallow guy! If I were you I'd tell my friend to find someone else because the answer is yes....If she gains any weight over the years (and he hasn't grown up yet) then he WILL cheat on her!

I totally FEEL for her because I'm in the same boat now my guy is leaving me cuz I'm too heavy. I just wish he would've told me ahead of time like this guy did. What happens if he gets her PREGNANT.... you know he will and then what? I don't think she should marry him but it sounds like it's too late....
