Evidence of the "Southwest brainwash"

Sorry people... I've been finding that the legacy carriers have the same or LOWER prices than Southwest, jetBlue, Frontier, etc. People just naturally think "Oh, I have to check Southwest" because once upon the time it was true. Nowadays, the legacies have to compete too, and they do most of the time. E.g., on the LAX-SFO market, which was averaging $250+ roundtrip, Frontier introduced service for $109+. AA and UA immediately matched.... so hell yes I'm going to fly AA instead.

Bottom line, it pays to shop around, and to think outside the proverbial LCC box. You might be surprised.

depends on where you're going and the time of year. with swa and jetblue, you'll have to check on their websites, but otherwise, cheapseats.com or travelocity usually have the best online deals. subscribe to travelzoo's top 20 and you'll get a weekly set of new deals.

Depends on where you're flying... I've found Southwest to be very reasonable, in my experience.

it depends on :
1- airport of Departure
2- Airport of Destination
3- date of travel

so when these information are in hand, contact your travel agent, that what they are for, to advise you the best route/timing/price for your proposed journey
