I live in California and I am a plumber, but I can't get a job because I have 2 points on my record, how can I get rid of one? One is an accident, and the other is a ticket, which will be up in March, but I may have been eligible to take traffic school. Can anyone help?

Both the answers above are wrong. I am a licensed insurance agent in over 40 states including CA. Yes you can take those courses but they will only help in reducing the fine or may be a part of the punishment of the violation. A violation will stay on your record from 3 years from the date of conviction. After that they do fall off.

You can take a defensive driving course at your local technical college. They will remove up to 4 points for taking the course. In SC they are available on Saturday for convenience.
