Sound on my T.V. set?

I have a telvision in my room and just moved it down there a couple of weeks ago. I turned it on yesterday and I'm not getting any sound, I know I havn't dropped or bumped anything, so I don't know what the problem is. I don't have anything hooked to it, I have that grey screen but shouldn't it be making a sound?

Also, the remote that it came with is no longer working for it either even after a put new batteries in it. Is there a way to program it to the t.v.? or do I have to buy a new remote?

Perhaps the Mute button on the remote is turned on.

You may have to buy a new remote.
Yes, if you need to reprogram the TV there is a way to do that.
