How could I do this? I really need some meds to function at the moment.

First off if you are having issues functioning chances you need to see a physician.

Second Do not EVER take more than the recomended dosage of a pain releiver. My ex husband (who almost ended up as my ex deceased husband) thought that instead of 2 extra streinght tylenol he would take 3 every 4-6 hours and almost took a fatal dose (over 4000mg a day is toxic to the liver.)

Third, even though you can be perscribed 800 mg of motrin it is dangerous to take 4 200 mg over the counter pills as some over the counter medications have other components that CANNOT BE DOUBLED. Like loratabs there is a 5mg. 7mg and 10 mg (I might be inexat on dosage but you get the idea) this is the amount of codeine not the total mg streingth of everything in the pill as it is a codine/tylenol MIX>

Lastly if you are thinking about self medicating or medicating yourself with street drugs think about this. Street drugs have no regulations, the people you are buying them from are only out to make a buck they dont care if you get sick off of there product as long as you are alive and have a need they still have a customer and if you die, its just normal business. They will find more. They "Cut" or stretch there prduct with corn starch, arsinic, rat poisioning (coumadin/warfarin which causes bleeding), cyanide or other deadly products.

If you have a real medical problem that you need medication for you need to check out your local clinics and see if there are any physicians thqt may work with you. There are even free/reduced cost clinics that can help as well.

And lastly addiction IS A REAL medical problem that the withdraw can cause serious rise in temperature, heartrate, blood pressure and other issues that require treatment.

Just a tip, 200mg times 4 tablets does not equal 660mg. Tylenol #1 confuses me but I do know that Tylenol # 2,3, and 4 have codeine in them. Tramadol is ultram and I doubt if you could get that over the phone either. In order to be prescribed pain meds you will need to be evaluated for type of pain and for how long you may need treated. Obviously you will have to call your doctor.

Doctor's visits for 'pain meds' are required because many of the pain meds are narcotics, habit forming, and can be abused.

The only serious painkiller that is available is Tylenol #1 that has minor amounts of codeine in it. Mostly it doesn't work that well.

Here's a hint, go see your doctor instead.

Pain medication? Just take slightly more of the over the counter ones, Ibuprofen, Naproxen Sodium, Percogesic. Get them in the generic bottles and take a few more pills than the instructions, trust me, if you went to a doctor about it, he'd give you a prescription for 660 mg ibuprofen pills, but if you want to do that you could just take 4 over the counter 200 mg pills.

If your talking about narcotics, No. The advice about taking more of an over the counter medication is a stupid suggestion unless you want to damage your liver and kidneys and risk death. If your in pain and over the counters dont work, your going to have to see a doctor but your still most likely not going to get a narcotic.

...

you're asking if you can get pain pills without seeing a doctor.

did you think about what you're asking?

i mean, seriously? you think you can just walk in off the street and get vicodin or something? really?

bayer, tylenol or advil is the best you're going to get. and if you "need meds to function," you should see a doctor anyway. either that, or just develop a serious drug problem and ruin your life already.

Not narcotic ones, nope you are out of luck there. Narcotic medications cannot be perscribed without a doctor, as they are tightly regulated.
You have your choice of over the counter pain medications, they are ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), naproxyn sodium (Naprosyn) and acetaminophen (Tylenol, paracetamol). All of them have varying benefits and risks. Read the bottles, and depending on your type of pain, one of them should work well for you.

It depends on who your doctor is. Call your family doctor and tell him/her of the pain and see if they can call you in some tramadol(this is a generic) to your pharmacy. Sometimes physicians will do this for their well established patients.
