If you're talking about leaving mom, a puppy should be no less than 8 weeks at least and if the puppy is able to stay with the litter until 10 weeks, even better.

Puppies learn so many things from mom after 6 weeks like manners and behavior that it's really important for them to stay with mom even tho they can still eat puppy food at this age and are probably weaned. A reputable breeder won't let a puppy go before 8 weeks.

Not less than 8weeks, 9 is better. A social process is happening in the puppy pack and with out that, when the come home at 4-6 weeks old the puppy tends to grow with insecurities and dog problems, leading to an unhappy owner and dog. With larger breeds the dog maybe more prone to not respect other dogs in meeting them and constantly challenge. Let momma dog do her thing for 8 weeks with those pups and then take the little tyke home.

Usually puppies are old enough leave their mothers and littermates at the age of 8 weeks. By this time they should have had the first 2 of 3 combo-vaccines (against parvo, distemper, etc.), and their immune systems should be on-track.

It's unwise to take a puppy before 8 weeks because it hasn't learned any "pack manners" from its mom yet; it's immune system isn't developed enough to protect it from disease; and it's personality hasn't begun to show yet.

If you want to know what the PERSONALITY of the pup you're adopting is going to be like, wait until it's at least 10 weeks old.

Usually between 7-8 weeks old. Our moms wean their puppies themselves around 5-6 weeks old, but we keep them here with their litter mates until they're older. There's no good reason to keep them longer than that. If we keep puppies here longer than that, they start getting their pecking order with in their pack. To send them to their new homes early lets them adjust to their new "pack". It's always important for the humans to be the alpha in the pack from day one !!!

Probably 8-10 weeks. Just make sure your puppy has all of the required vaccinations especially if he will be around other dogs. Unfortunately, you can't count on others getting their dogs vaccinated and you don't want your puppy to catch anything. It's good to get your puppy out to socialize with other dogs.

8 weeks is ideal, 49 days (7 weeks) is a bare minimum.
The reason that 8 weeks has become the norm is because their eyes can't be tested before that. (or didn't you know that puppy's should have their eyes tested before going to their new homes)

I think that they should leave home as soon as they start eating. Because my pit bull had puppies and we gave them away as soon as they started to eat. and they weren't sad or anything. I think that they were about six weeks old.Or when they don't drink milk from their mom anymore. But just make sure that they don't get attached to their mother because they ain't gonna want to leave. And if they do try giving/selling two away so that they won't miss each other.

To leave mom 8-9 weeks. to visit the general public you want them fully vaccinated, which happens around 16 weeks, but you can bring him places as long as there aren't a lot of other dogs around to socialize him, especially with people, loud noises, different surfaces, car rides, and introduce him with one or two other dogs that are adults and fully vaccinated. No dog parks, petstores or anywhere a lot of other dogs visit to prevent parvo, distemper and other puppy diseases

We have always taken puppies at 7 weeks-it's true that they learn alot between 6-10 weeks but this way they learn it from me, they aren't being cowed by mom(who at this stage is becoming less tolerant of pups) or stronger more dominant siblings-we've always had happy, confident dogs
