Only while taking communion, & that will be wine, I know you might try to say Jesus turn the water into wine at a wedding, You have to see what was going on, what a wedding, that is a type & symbolic example, The Oil & The Wine is also refer to as The Holy Ghost. Now to answer you question more plainer, Paul rebuke the Church at Corinth for making the Lord's supper to a point they was not only drinking wine for communion, But some was drinking too much a started to get drunk on it. Paul rebuked them, I know all the scriptures talking about wine, like drink a little wine for thy stomach sake, why was this allowed, Because wine could settle the Christians of Old that had to travel to other parts of their country where the food was different then what their body was use to taking in, therefore wine settle the stomach, But they never drunk enough to make them to start to fill high. Cough syrup today has alcohol in it. Now all said & done, the bible also says look not upon wine when it is red, & to avoid strong drinks.

That is an interesting question. Catholics do drink and even serve alcohol at events on church property.

Gospel religions do not drink. I was Church of God for a number of years. Loved the people and the music and believe the words. But knew some things about myself I could never change. Methodists tolerate moderate drink. VERY MEDERATE! I grew up Methodist.

Although they had wine at every celebration in the Bible.

This is always an interesting question.

When we think about alcohol and its use we have to think on several things. First of all, the purpose. Am I drinking to feel drunk, forget something, or because a glass of wine a day is actually good for me. Wine is spoken of many times in the Bible and Jesus' first miracle involved wine. I choose now not to drink because first of all I have a history of alcoholism in my family, #2-when I did drink I only drank things that basically tasted like kool-aid, which then you don't notice until it's too late that you've had to much so I usually only drank one or two drinks, #3 the Lord revealed to me that I was living for him and not myself anymore and sometimes you will have to give up something that although it might not be a problem for you, it may hinder someone else's walk. read Ephesians 4:17-5:1-20

Well, let me ask you a question. Do you drink? if you drink look at your self and think about what you have in common whith God, not just all the basic things like suffering because Jesus already did his suffering. if you don't drink well it is not a sin to drink but you need to know your limit of alchol....some people say oh it's OK to be a drunk but in reality it's not you are puting yourself before God,your family, your friends, and all the people you love or may ever love so think about waht i just said and give a reply.... i will be waiting im not a preist so don't be shy

1 Timothy 5:23 says to stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses. For certain stomach ailments, drinking a little wine seems to be acceptable.
1 Corinthians 6:10 says that a drunkard will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
1 Timothy 3:2,3 says a bishop,or a Christian clergyman,should drink no wine,but 1 Timothy 3:8 says a deacon,a clergyman that ranks directly under a priest,can drink a little wine.
So,if I understand correctly, anyone but a Pastor,Priest,Reverend, anyone who is Head of a Church, can drink, but in moderation. But,if you don't feel right drinking, even in moderation, maybe that is the Holy Spirit convicting you of it,and God is letting you know that He doesn't want you to drink.

I am not a Christian but I limit my mind altering substance intake because I can tell my spiritual energy is not up to the intensity it is capable of while under the influence. But sometimes, when I need to rest my brain, I do imbibe moderately.

first of all, christians aren't the only people who have relationships with god. as for the drinking part, some of it depends on the environment they are in.

I don't have any bible reference for this, but I think it's ok to drink alcoholic beverages, but not to the point where you get drunk. That's abusing that body, which is mentioned as a sin, because in the bible, it mentions the body being as "God's temple"

Jesus turned water into wine. So drinking is OK.

Drinking is OK, but excess is never good. When you lose control, you hurt yourself and others.

Take care,
