My brother died last year and sometimes really weird things happen, and I think maybe he's trying to tell me something. I just wondered if anyone else had experience with loosing a loved one and the greif that comes along with that. Did a lot of "coincidences" happen shortly after they died?

Someone asked what kinds of things specifically...whenever I drive down the road of the cemetary that my brother is burried at, the streetlights flash. Sometimes they will go off, and sometimes they go on. In fact at first they would always go off, then one night I was driving down that street with a friend and was telling her about it. Right when I said "The streetlights always go off when I drive on this road, " a streetlight that had been off turned on. (Just like my brother to try and prove me wrong) My friend was freaked out. Also when I ask other people to notice when they drive down that road if the streetlights are messed up, they always say they that never happens to them.

absolutely...
first of all, let me tell you that i am so sorry your brother died. but i have some good news here for you: it is VERY possible for the dead to communicate with the living! i know because, i have had many many many experiences. some you wont even believe. but just because someone dies, doesn't mean that they don't exist anymore. they exist in another realm, and can communicate with us. now, there will be many people who don't believe this is true. it is true. you just have to be open, and accepting of the fact. i believe that those "coincidences" were in fact, your brother trying to communicate with you. this has happened to me many times. maybe, next time this happens, you should (playfully) say, "what? what do you want?" then keep your eyes open for an answer! he's trying to tell you something...

Yes, I believe that dead people can communicate with the living. Have you ever seen the John Edward show? Or read a book by Sylvia Browne? If not, you should.

I think if they have not moved on they do have the ability to communicate. The problem is as I see it of course, is as though you are in a room with a one way mirror, the mirror is on the side of the deceased, they can see you but cannot speck with you, as there is a thick pane of glass in between. Sometimes you feel them there, cannot see them or hear them, but you know they are there. You have no physical proof so you and the world dismisses it as grief and wishful thinking. You are told you are not in your right mind, but are given a 'pass' because you are grieving. If you continue to stay in this stuck place, you are labeled as a person who needs professional help; sometimes this is true but many times it is not. We all grieve in our own way and time frame You don't talk about it as it makes other people uncomfortable, but it doesn't mean you still don't feel your loved one around you at times. Perhaps your loved one drops by when you are feeling stressed and leaves. I know my husband and I used to visit his Father's grave site when we went up North for business. We would spend time there, talk about him and to him. We would stop and buy a lunch and eat it at his Dad's grave site, this is not morbid and is done in Europe. I think when we would do this a bell would ring where ever he was or a messenger would inform my husbands Father that he had 'visitors' I don't for one moment think his spirit or soul stays at the grave site. It a meeting place for the living to reconnect with those who have passed on. Some people need that, others do not. Grave sites are a memorial for the living to gather to remember the dead, not the other way around

The thing of it is, and I'm no expert by any means, if you don't have this feeling all the time that your loved one is with you but at other times you feel the person very is, that is very telling. I take it to mean the person you miss is not there all the time. Just as in day to day Life, when you both went on your separate ways during certain hours and then reunited at some point later in the day, perhaps one person worked someplace else, you were not in communication. I think they come to you when you are in agony or miss them terrible or if you are in possible danger. I don't think they are demons as a lot of religions purport. You know if its a familiar feeling of the one you love and miss.

My uncle died when I was still in elementary school. I remember visiting him before he was buried in a funeral home. There were lillies everywhere, and I watched his pale face lie so still on a marble table... The smell was overwhelming, but so comforting. Sure there were other flowers, but the smell of those lillies were undeniable. A few weeks later I was having a hard day, so I asked to talk to my uncle in a prayer. Although I didn't get an answer through words, the smell of lillies took over my room. I smiled then, knowing that he still cared. That he still loved me and was watching over me. Heavenly father must be taking good care of him than.

I believe it is possible for spirits to contact us. Not in such an outstanding way, but in little ways that still mean something to us.

Believe, what you want to believe.
After 19 years for dad and 3 for mom, I believe the coincidences are merely triggers for our memories of them, and I don't "trip" so much, anymore.
But I will say I've been in some spooky situations, so there may be more to the universe than our little minds can comprehend.

I am sorry to inform you, and I know you will not believe me because you believe what you want to believe and that is a mechanism of self-defence against madness or suicide ....but the chance is 99.9999 that there is no soul, and no god. We are just alone floating in the middle of nowhere. Perhaps the closest living thing with a thinking brain is millions of light years away and we will probably never meet. Or perhaps we are a genetic experiment carried out by our ancestors from other planet.... but God, in the sense of a supernatural, metaphisical goodness that takes care of us in life and afterwards is NONSENSE. sorry. but at some point in life we need to be honest to ourselves. Our greatest hope of goodness and immortality is in science, in particular in human cloning, but , ironically , is those fanatics who believe in God the ones who have been preventing, and continue to prevent the development of science and human cloning. Those who think are on the good side of God, are in fact , usually without their knowledge, the evils of the world , the ones who burned young girls calling them witches, and burned scientists .
