I read all of the other answers and most of them, if not all of them, will eventually work. But, I think the easiest thing to do is to dye the rest of the carpet the color of your red wine stain. (--:

Oxyclean (or some generic brand thereof). It will blow your mind. I got red wine out of a white carpet--and the stain had been there for weeks.

Oxyclean. Thats like one of the only things that it is actually totally affective against. Just by dropping it on it should change color from red to transparent light green, better than dark red at least :)

Oxyclean or hydrogen peroxide, it will both will neutralize the pigments in the wine. Dab gently in small spots to test.

There's some special clean up spray you can go buy, I'm sure it would get off but if you dont then atleast put water cause if you leave it dry then it would stick on there and it wont be able to get off
