Every state has different laws and i would not want to lead you in the wrong direction but i am a officer in the state of IN and i have a degree in the subject and i can tell you in this state if he was charged as a adult it will stick with him as a adult record and a felony is a felony no matter if its violent or not. You could buy the gun being that its in your name but i will tell you that you will be getting into a grey area with it being in the with him and by no means could he ever use it even in self defense. In the end my best advise to you would be to just talk to your local sheriff or police department and ask them so you don't have any trouble with the law. Good luck with your outcome

Your best bet would be check with the local authorities about that. Some states do not permit the possession of a firearm of any type to a covicted felon. You would be better off getting a home security alarm system. Having a gun in the house for protection is a bad idea. Mistakes happen and someone could get injured or killed by accident. With an alarm system your home is protected even when your not home.

well, being that my brother just had his car stolen I am not the least sympathetic. Actually, it somewhat seems like poetic justice that theives are trying to rob him. You always reap what you sow. I actually hope this happens to the person that took his car since he's scott free since he wasn't caught. I could forgive someone with a drug problem, but a thief is always a thief. And if you don't charge 12 year-olds for pot (my opinion is the parents should be charged also), they go on to continue and they move on to bigger, badder drugs. My advice: If you don't like the neighborhood, then move out! Lose the thief boyfriend also. And if you're a thief also, then you both deserve what you're getting and I hope they take it all! Sorry. Just being honest.

I hope someone can answer your question about the gun better, but I think it's best to address where you live first! Find a safer neighborhood where you don't need a gun, since guns in the home kill their owners and family more often than perpetrators.
