my wedding will be outside and around 3 pm.
i would say, wear some low heels or ballet flats and a vintage style cocktail dress (especially if the wedding has a vintage feel) and a shoulder wrap or shawl or shrug or something.

try this website for some amazing vintage cocktail dresses:

try looking at the designer clothing line Theory for great wraps.

It really doesnt matter what time the wedding is since the reception is the where you want to dress to impress and most all receptions start right around dinner time or alittle later. The wedding could be at 10 am and the reception is still going to be towards the evening. I rather doubt that it would be an outside wedding unless it is in the Bahamas since it is pretty cold at night any where in the states. I am in Southern California and I wouldnt have an outdoors wedding at this time of year. On your wedding invitation or reception card doesnt it say if it is in a hall or not? It should also say if they want everyone to dress like the 30's or not . Most all weddings everyone dresses up. If you are planning on dancing the night away then most definitly wear shoes you can dance in so you dont end up making a fool of yourself by falling on your butt. I am sure you know others that are going to this wedding so why not ask them what they are wearing.

heys...are you a good friend to the person that is getting married? also if your not sure if it's inside or outside honestly a knee length dress would work off the shoulder or straps up to you and a shaw would be nice not to dressy but just enough just in case it's really dressy you know that way do you have to worry about anything ripping on the dance floor lol also ask the person who is getting married what they think and also ask how the evenings plans are going to work that way you'll have a better Idea of what to wear and you can check the weather that day if it's outside to help predict things also hope this helps Love Kels xoxoxo

i would wear a nice semi formal dress. something that is not long nor too short. find one that shows off your legs and maybe should be spaghetti strap dress. i went to this 5 pm wedding in Feb. all decked out in a nice dress-semiformal-and nice accesories and i had so many people step on my dress since it was 3/4 i the front and long with a small trein in the back. it was a nightmare. find something that is 30's 0r 40's: try the strapless dresses that are with lace and go at the most to your knees, i would wear that since it would go with the style. the 30's, 40's and 50's had all classy and sophisticated tastes and looks-try to recreate that without going broke! plus now is the time to shop for dresses since most highschools just had their homecoming dances and you can find yours at a bargain of a price!try macys's,dillards, jc penny's for dresses! as for the hair do something like soft curls and a nice makeup maybe smoky eyes and lite lips-that is my suggestion. good luck!

A cocktail length dress (to the knees), not full length, and not white. The dress should not be revealing in either the back or the front. It can be short, long or sleeveless but should not be strapless. The color should be muted or the print should be simple. Your shoes can be any style but remember if you are going to "swing" don't wear platforms.

If it is an outside wedding, take along a nice shawl.

Remember the bride is the center of attention.

It would be good if u can find out which is the style, but if u cant u just have to deal with the information u got. U can wear a dress that goes with ur type of body, colors like brown, green, beige maybe with some golden or silver details, depends of the color of ur skin, and it will be good if u can find out if its going to be outside, since we r in autumn, so u can prepare ur self with a nice cow or something. Normally the hair looks better with a tale, or an elegant detail.
Hope this help u

4 pm is eavening attire. So wear fall colors. REds, greens, yellows, and black which goes with every thing. A suit is also a very casual formal way to go. Great way to look professionaly pretty without showing up the bride.

A 4pm wedding will go into the evening and with a live swing band I would dress pretty much formal..not necessarily a long gown but definitely not casual. Maybe a tea length dress on the formal side .

I don't know how long it is before the day of the wedding, but if there's time ask someone in the wedding party. If you know no one, black and white long or short attire never fails.
