Lately anyone who downloaded an updated program from Microsoft will find that Microsoft has stealthily loaded a monitoring program called "Windows Genuine Advantage." It constantly searches for non-genuine windows programs and sends a message back to Microsft if it finds one. Then it puts up a nagging screen saying that there is an unlicensed program on this computer.

Hi there,
Well the easiest way would be to connect to the Internet and go to http://www.microsoft.com/Genuine and follow the instructions on how to verify your copy. Or you could just ask the owner of the PC and see if the have the original CD with the license with it and receipt.

Hi!

If the computer uses genuine Windows then it should have a genuine Windows CD/DVD :)
Try downloading some patches, etc... from Microsoft.com that require genuine Windows, such as IE7.

Good luck!
