As a divorced father I can tell you this: The courts say that mothers and fathers are equal, but it is not so. Regardless of the circumstances, fathers are branded after a divorce. As an Example: I went through the Canadian border with my daughter when she was 2 and they gave my the third degree because I didn't have any proof she was mine. My ex never got stopped when she went through.
The only way things can be close to equal is if the mother is a good woman and supports the father.

I don't agree that because a woman has carried a child for 9 months she has a special bond with that child.
Some mothers just don't have those maternal in-stinks.
Everyone including the law assumes that the mother is closer to the child and so are more lenient towards the mother.
The law and peoples attitude in general are changing but fathers are still short changed by the system

so they should, how many fathers walk out on their kids compared to mothers, we are the reliable one. Im not speaking about all men but if you see a single dad bringing up the kids (which does happen) its quite unusual but a single mother doing it, well thats just the norm. I know that dads can get a parental thing ( cant think of the word for it now) from their solicitor that gives them rights if they werent married so you do get rights too.

Both have equal rights but the mother should have more because she is the one who carried the baby in her womb and gave her blood as milk to the baby.

What did the father do to get the baby, just 15 minutes of sex and he enjoyed that unlike the mother who suffered pregnancy

yes i feel that mothers do have more rights than the father but basically i think it is because mothers have more maternal instincts than fathers and probably will take more care than the father too, but there are the odd few men that get it right

Well I suppose you have to look at it from the stand point of a woman. the emotional attachment for mother and child doesn't begin when the child is born, but when the child is conceived, they spend 9 months within a woman's body, so the nurturing begin upon conception.

I am not saying that men don't have very strong maternal attachments, but women have stronger ones. and of course more rights.

Because they go through the pain of childbirth, breast feeding and changing all the nappies, in return they give them crap advice that damages them for life and then later in life it's the kids job to change their mums nappy when the carer leaves early on a Friday.
