Elmer's glue is made from MILK. Note the sour milk smell. Elmer is Elsie the Cow's (Bordens' spokescow) husband.
Did you know that Elsie and Elmer have two children? Do you know their names?

RE:
Is glue made from horses?
I heard glue was made from horeses and did not believe it but then i looked it up in the dictionary and it says glue is made from the conetive tissue of dead animals. Does elmers glue have those things in it or do they just use chemicals now or do they still use horses.
Thanks

Some glue is still made from horses, and other dead animals not deemed fit for human consumption.
The majority is man-made though.
The horse etc glue tends to be used in traditional trades like replacing upholstery on antique furniture.

Originally, glue was made from other animal parts like the hoofs of cattle and horses
You may have heard that old horses are sent to the glue
factory. Although, this seems cruel, it actually is like recycling the
chemicals found in the animals bodies after they die. It is the protein in
the animals, as well as, the milk that work to make very strong bonds that
results in the stickiness of milk when combined with the acid of vinegar.
The baking soda results in another reaction which as you have experienced,
results in a very good glue. The real answer to your question is that, the
proteins in the milk make the structural foundation for the glue. The
reason that skimmed milk works best is that the fat only interferes with
the bonds necessary for a strong glue.

Not so much anymore, but I do believe they made if from their hooves. Wood glue is, unless stated that its not. It makes me sad :(

A lot of glue used to be made from horses - and other dead animals. Horses hooves also used to be boiled down to make what is called "Dubbin" which was used to waterproof boots and other leather items for outdoor use.
It used to be a common expression where I was brought up (East London, UK) that anyone feeling old or "over the hill" was "due for the glue factory" meaning that they would soon die and end up where the dead horses were sent.
Nowdays glues are almost exclusively made from artificial ingredients like petro-chemicals... which sounds nicer but is actually probably more harmful to the environment.

Historically, glue only refers to protein colloids prepared from animal tissues. The meaning has been extended to any type of glue-like substances that are used to attach one material to another.
There are many adhesive substances that are considered or commonly referred to as glue such as:
Cyanoacrylate ("Superglue", "Krazy Glue")
Casein glue (protein glue)
Postage stamp gum
Cement glues:
Contact cement
Rubber cement
Pyroxylin cement
Plastic cement (technically a solvent, not a glue.)
Resin glues:
Epoxy resins
Acrylic resin
Phenol formaldehyde resin
Polyvinyl acetate (PVA) Includes white glue (i.e. Elmer's Glue) and yellow carpenter's glue (Aliphatic resin) (Brands include Titebond and Lepage)
Glue sticks (PVP or PVA based)
Polyester resin
Resorcinol resin
Urea-resin glue (plastic-resin)
Urea-formaldehyde resin
Canada balsam
Pastes:
Latex pastes
Vegetable-based glues:
Mucilage
Starch glue
Soybean glue
Tapioca paste (commonly known as "vegetable glue")
Animal glues
Hide glue (flake and liquid versions)
Bone glue
Fish glue
Rabbit skin glue
Horse
Hoof glue
Hot melt glue
Polyethylene hot melt
Acrylonitrile
Cellulose nitrate
Latex combo
Neoprene base
Polysulfide
Polyurethane
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
Rubber base
Silicon base
Albumin glue
Ceramic adhesive
Ultraviolet glue
yes. some kind of glue is from horses.
