And let's be FOR REAL! There are maculine women, and feminine
men!
But where the masculine is more direct, and focused, giving one
an exaggerated sense of self.
The feminine is expansive, and actually gives one a feeling they
are smaller than they are?

I dont think insecurity is gender specific. I have met both insecure felames and males. It depends on how you feel about yourself, and how youv'e been taught to feel about yourself.

I don't think that it is just the "American culture" that "puts" women in their place. I think it took thousands of years of training and upbringing to come to where we are now. Western culture has advanced much further than many other cultures in "Women’s Rights"

As to the question I think that part of it is nature, men are for the most part bigger and stronger then women and thus women look to men for protection and in this role the men have forced women into this subversive role. Over the thousands of years and with the invent of advertising and other forms of media the culture has molded members of our society to be generally more insecure whether they are men or women. I don't think it has anything to do with Masculine-Feminine.

Biology lesson-
Women are naturally smaller, physically weaker. In general, when a woman meets a man, he's going to be bigger, stronger, better able to defend himself, etc. Yeah, that would make anyone a little nervous.

Human Development lesson-
American culture socializes girls to be demure, submissive, emotionally connected- we are programed to be like June Cleaver (Leave it to Beaver-1950's) and Donna Reed (The Donna Reed Show-1950's) and even Clair Huxtible (The Cosby Show-1980's).
American culture encourages boys to be "tough" and strong, ignoring their feelings- they are programed to be like Perry Mason (Perry Mason-1950's and 60's) or Toby Keith (country music singer-current).

Because of this social expectation (yes, even after "women's lib"), many women come across as less secure- they're just trying to fit the traditional mold.

i dont believe that at all...i think its todays society and religions that put women down...back before christianity there was something known throughout the world as a divine feminine who was the most powerful god...later on the romans, in an attempt to keep their civilization alive, allied with the christians forming the roman catholic church. (this was after jesus, but thats another story) once together they had the means to have many holy wars and with that wipe out many other religions including zoroastrianism (sp.), many pagan religions, the old greek mythology beliefs, as well as when to war with the muslims during the crusades. anyway...look up more info on the divine feminine

Not true, my sister is more masculine than me, is a dentist and makes a six figure income, who is much more insecure than me.
Being masculine has nothing to do with feeling secure. You can tell when someone is insecure or secure just by the way they act Usually if some one has to exaggerate themselves in their actions and interactions I would interpret that as insecurity.

Basically, the female human wants security. Nothing else matters. However, men want to single handedly re-populate the entire planet, as if they are the last functional male on the planet. It's all about the competition for the better females. And the females want security, so they're attracted to the successful males.

i think you are right. i mean women have more expectations to live up to then men. a bloke can go out in dirty jeans and an unwashed tee shirt and no one will batter an eyelid if a woman went out like that she'd be called a tramp. a bloke sleeps with 30 women and gets called a stud a women sleeps with 30 blokes and gets called a whore. a bloke goes to the pub every night for a week when he has kids and no one thinks twice a woman does it and gets called an irresponsible alcoholic. hope this has answered your question xXx

interesting question. Though it isnt politically correct per se to lump all into one category, women are, by nature, more perceptive and aware of themselves. This leads to the potential to be either insecure or self confident.
