I have read that the lasers aren't 100%, but are they good enough to where I can use over-the-counter peels to reduce them even more to get a smoother look? Or is there something else out there that will work better than lasers?

Will you face look 100% smooth? That depends on your skin type. If you are looking for a permenant solution to your scars with great results, over the counter medication will not work. You must talk with a dermetologist. They have several options, besides lasers, that you can use to get rid of scars.
Here is some more information about those treatments: http://www.theknowguide.com/acne-14.html

I don't think there is any treatment than can fix your scars 100%. I think depending on the kind of acne scars you have, various treatments can help, including CO2 laser, TCA cross where they apply acid to the inside of each individual scar, dermabrasion, subcision/fillers where they can break up the scar tissue and then use fillers to raise the scar so it is level with the surface of the rest of the skin, and some non-ablative lasers can help also to stimulate new collagen/elastin in the skin. As far as topical skin care is concerned, you can try using Retin A Cream, Alpha Hydroxy Aicds (Glycolic Acid & Lactic Acid), Copper Peptides (Neova & SkinBiology) and L-Ascorbic Acid Serums (Pure Vitmain C) to help stimulate breakdown the scar tissue and stimulate new collagen/elastin. HTH : )

Laser just like pills or different types of treatments can be effective depending on the source of the problem and your skin type. Laser procedures are expensive and sometimes, you have to have the treatment several times. That said, you can try to see what happens, but do not expect miracles.

i use neutrogena acne mark fading peel, its in and orange box and costs about $14 but when you use it for weeks and weeks it really over time helps alot, my dermotologist was even impressed. Some scars are permanent and require deep painful chemcial peels, but if its just from minor acne then this stuff shoudl really work....
