I don't lick the plate, but I have been known to use my spoon to good advantage to clean my plate well enough that some might think I've licked it clean.

Use a piece of bread if it is dinner. For dessert just be very thorough with your spoon.
I have actually done it when I was completely alone (not even my husband to see), but it is extremely bad manners.

lol i do it with people present, i lick the juice of the plate , sometimes i scrape it with my finger and lick my finger, or occasionaly just wipe it with a slice of bread, and belch

I don't do that myself and it bugs me. My wife does it when were alone and it has taken many years and a lot of self control to ignore.

No. I let my dog lick it then I wash it normally with Dawn brand soap and hot water.
