I have just braised through a time line on religions and the overwhelming result is?
It reads like a prima for war.
Including Islam, which is also internally subjected to conflict, all faiths have been similarly effected.
Though out time it has been nothing other than warring parties within faiths, or between faiths, and all of the thought themselves to be right.
Really it was the case of the 'winner takes all'.
Those who conquer another's ideology.
One can imagine the motivation then when the underlings were recruited to fight in a join us or else situation?
This is the age of communication.
We all know the score.
We can't unravel the past and none of us has any more right than anyone else to use it. ---
So, shall we stop it now or carry on and stop it for mankind forever?
We live in a free country that allows anyone's beliefs to flourish and that is why most newcomers came here in the first place.
Use this freedom wisely and make no attempt to relive the past, whatever authority you think it has.
This applies to everyone. Me, You, Everyone. OK?
Are you up for it?

Lets all go back to pagans then, live off the land and follow the seasons. Its not going to happen so we all follow what we each perceive to be true or what we have been brain washed into believing. so the only real rules we need are.
1. NO ONE has the right to hurt another person
2. treat others how you would be treated
3. put into the world what you need to take out
4. respected each other
5. love each other
f**k this world could be so much nicer if we only learnt from our mistakes but we are all to blame because we have forgotten how to do or show any of the above and we all live in are own small minds.

Religions are all about the past. Just pick up a Bible or Quran and you'll soon find out that those words were written thousands of years ago. Billions of people who worship those books relive the past every time they pick up those books. So when you say "make no attempt to relive the past" you sound like a complete fool to those who believe passionately about those books.

the problem with religion that each individual thinks that his beliefs are the right way and every one else is not.
and each generation is taught the same, so you have conflicts between various faiths
Muslim - Jewish
Catholic - Protestant
these wars have gone on for centuries and will never stop as religion or politics are at the root of all evil,
but it only takes a few people to accept each others beliefs for them to get along, but you'll never have world wide peace and harmony. no matter how much you wish for it.

Sadly, I imagine not everyone reading your post lives in a 'free' country. I wouldnt call the USA the 'Land of the Free' (for a million and one reasons).
What you are saying about religion definitely warrants discussion, but dont forget that many religious groups hate war and will do anything to oppose it (look into the Quakers for example).

I agree with your "question". Religion is about the politics of ideological community, and this has generally been shown to cause unimaginable conflict the world over.
However, it is worth being cautious that you are not tying theological beliefs to political ideologies too tightly. The ideas and lessons that some groups have given us are worth retaining. We should not allow the fact that a Christian is asking us to pay respect to others or that a Hindu is asking us to treat the world around us with care to hinder our evaluation of the strength of their requests.
What's more, the flaw of communal separation also exists outside of religious alignment, be it in nationalism, economic idealism, racial supremecism, classism or even in how we support our favourite sports teams.
I feel that the problem underlying religion is symptomatic, rather than causal, of a greater issue in how mankind relates to itself. To exclusively focus on one instance of this problem is to allow the others to go unchecked, and I feel our efforts would be best spent dealing with the deeper level of instinctive segregational association before tackling the surface problems.

I would hate not to have faith and could not look forward to life after death. It would be a
rotten world with out faith of some kind I had a brother in law who studied religion and his conclusion was all faiths in the end are the same they all believe in god just use a different
name for him. My husband had a saying and he was not a real religious man but he said there
was no atheist in a fox hole during the war they all cried out GOD HELP ME so account for that.is that stupid.

There never will be one world religion that everyone believes. Even here in the US people aren't exactly free to practice their religion openly. Wicca, a very peaceful religion is not all about witchcraft yet most Christians say it is. They can't practice Wicca openly because it will offend the Christians causing the Wiccans to be ostracized.

No one said that the stary of the Bible was peacefull. The stories in the Bible are there to inform us of what happened in the past leading up to the death of Jesus Christ, and to tell us all that died for and why we should be thankfull to him and his father, not for us to live by. It is only depicting why we should be thankfull to him for what he did for us. (Dieing for our Sins). I do not think that there is anyone alive now that can absolutely without a reasonable shadow of a dought say that they live completely by the Bible. They might say they do, but everyone Sins. I mean, after all that is what Jesus died for, isn't it?

Most newcomers (illegal aliens) come here for economic reasons. Religion plays no part in their decision. This is the age of communication. You should learn to write and reread what you have written so that it actually communicates something. I didn't know the past had any authority.

Jesus was real and died for everyone who would believe and accept him as the massiah. I'm sorry for anyone who doesn't believe this way because they are going to hell. And, in all things, just because you don't like something or don't want to agree with something doesn't make it false. Jesus saves. Accept him or accept your fate in the firey pit of hell. It's that simple!
