I was sick for a long time and I lost 15 pounds in one week and 10 pounds the next. It's not wise because I ended up having it all come back. My metabolism slowed way down and I felt like a 30-year-old taking naps all the time and having to work extra hard to lose the weight HEALTHFULLY. Instead of fasting try a cleanse for a couple days...there are great cleansing teas out there and water + lemon + maple syrup+ chyanne pepper solutions you can make and it has a more desirable effect. Cleaning out the toxins in your body can equal a long lasting and healthy weight loss (until you fill it back up with junk again). Just remember it's a full life style change to become healthy and stay healthy.

I am studying to be a midwife,i already have a bachelor in science so you can trust that my advise is what a doctor would tell you.On a daily average you can lose a half a pound a day.If you are taking a laxitive or doing a colon cleanse along with fasting you can lose about 7-10 pounds of colon plaque, and feces, then about 7 pounds from no eating. Now please listen,if you take away nutrients from your body it can put your health in great danger.I would suggest that you just do a colon cleanse to lose some weight, and as far as diet goes do not starve yourself. The truth is when you start losing weight your metabolism slows down,so as soon as you start to eat again you will quickly put on what you lost plus possibly more.Ontop of that you are depriving your body of its nutrients and that can cause internal damage on you organs. This is no joke and will catch up to later in life.Being skinny isn't all its cracked up to.Be happy with yourself,or diet smart.

i don't know the answer to that, but if you are doing it to lose weight, be careful when you stop fasting or else you will put the weight straight back on. the best thing to do is have a steady diet, rather than a 2 week fast and then back to normal.

hey this is gona sound reli bad bt i can tell u frm experience u will becum skinny...4 evrytime u feel dizzy just eat a spoonful of sugar and drink plenty of water..the want of eating goes away too ur apetite disappears after 3-4 days of fasting and it shrinks permanently so u neva eat as much as u usually wud...its a biological fact 4 evryday u fast u lose a pound of fat and a pound of muscle so make sure u exercise so u keep sum muscle and dont fast if u want 2 keep all ur muscle..so...if u want 2 fast 4 2 weeks u will lose 28 pounds which is nearly 2 stone!! no diet works as fast as a fast!! bt remember dont do it 2 often cos its bad 4 u bt once u lose those 2 stone u wont put it on vry easily just dont do it often or its RELI bad!!

I don't know about how much weight you can lose - but I do know it's not a good idea. My mother was fasting - for religious reasons - and she ended up getting anemia (sp?) from doing so. She had no energy and her hair started to fall out. If you want to lose weight I would suggest eating single portions of food and walking daily.

Basing this on the average american girls weight and metabolism.
I used to trust what poeple answer on these pages, until I actually read answers about stuff i know. If you are average what will show up on the weight is -about3kg content in intestants, 2.5kg water, about 2kg of muscle, mostly on the legs and butt, and at least 2kg of fat and and in two weeks your leptin levels will drop like a stone to way belov half of the original values and unless you pick up weight lifting the amount of calories you burn every day will be permanently reduced by about 300kcal each day. Once you start eating again, you will notice thath your *** now has "dimples", since the muscles can no longer hold the fat in place as well as it could before.

it makes you lose weight but when u start to eat again u gain it back and then some i was reading the "curves" book you konw the fitness club? and it said that if you go without eating it slows down your metabolism which also makes you lose muscle which is bad so if ur tryin to lose weight don't fast but if ur doing it for religious reasons just becareful not to get sick

It depends if you exercise, drink water, how fat you are, etc. If I fasted for two weeks, I would probably lose 8 pounds, however I would be a little tired and weak. Try exercising, doing yard work and dancing. Eat meat and veggies, stay our of McDonalds, see what happens.

I'm sure you know this already. Fasting is NOT the way to loose weight!! It only makes your body store fat, because you are starving it. You HAVE to exercise and eat better! There are no pills, or short cuts.

Ok, sorry to say this, but you'll put on weight.

From the small amount of food that you will have to eat your body will gain more weight from it. Don't know why though...
