Compared to other meats, most fish stack up well for nutrition, apart from the mercury thing people have already mentioned.
Despite that, a lot of fish is high fat - not as much as red meat, but if you're trying to limit your fat intake, be aware of which fish are the fatties.

Here's a good chart.
I'm a huge salmon fan, particularly raw salmon, but the good stuff they serve in sushi bars is almost worse than steak.
Orange red snapper, trout and halibut are all good tasting, lowfat fish. Tilapia's a little higher, but it tastes great.
Try and buy your fish as fresh as possible. Fish sold in large supermarkets sits for an unbelievably long time, and while it's technically safe, it starts to taste *nasty*. Fish shouldn't smell or taste "fishy." You should be able to taste the distinct flavors of the fish you're eating - trout and tilapia taste distinctly different, and if you can't taste the difference, you're getting poor quality fish.

Most fish yes. There are some fish though that have high levels of mercury, and I have even seen a chart that explains how many fish is safe to eat in 1 month before the levels of mercury pose a threat, according to the type of fish. The most common varieties like salmon and tuna don't tend to have hight levels of mercury, but weirder less commercialized fish like sea bass and swordfish tend to have quite a bit.

I don't know about all fish but I know some fish has high levels of mercury in it which can be harmful to you. I always cook Tilapia and I've heard it is very good for you.

They were saying on the news yesterday that all fish is good for us, but pregnant women should avoid fish like shark, whale, etc. You can go to whichever news Katie Couric does now and look up the article there, she was talking about it on her program.

yes. they all contain omega 3 fatty acids which are good for healthy functioning of the body. fish is also a great source of protein. for a healthier diet, it is best to choose oilier fish such as tuna!

Fish is good for you, but any shelled fish like shrimp, lobster, crab, etc. is high in cholesterol, so don't be fooled.
