my question is why do people work on GOD,s holy day?

GOD says rember the sabbath day to keep it holy

they do not do what GOD says for them to do. they don,t care about GOD,s laws. they don,t care about keeping anything holy that is GOD,s-- some day people will see that they should have done what GOD told them to do but it will be two late then for them.

I don't, so I guess I'm an exception.
You can do certain types of work on the Sabbath, and I don't mean physical hard-labor work. You can "heal others" like Jesus did on the Sabbath(Mark 3:2-5; Luke 4:23; 9:2,11; John 5:17) as doctors do.
You can warm up meals on Saturday, {I didn't say cook}make up your bed, brush your teeth, brush your hair and etc.. (Matt.12:1-2,4; John 5:8)
You can help others in need (Matt.11:5; Mark 3:4; 12:11-12; Acts 3:6-12)
You can take nature walks.(Acts 16:13)

JESUS'S EXAMPLE

Jesus healed on the sabbath as helped people. On the Sabbath day you can even warm meals as boil water for oatmeal on the Sabbath. The work that you cannot do is cooking meals because it takes an hour or hours to cook or by staying in the fields to do hard labor or cleaning, shopping in the store, eating at restaurants and etc. The Pharisees were putting their laws on people. But Jesus came back to them, when he said "the Sabbath was made for man".}

As for other people just violating it; I believe they do because to them--they believe it's so hard to keep holy and sacred. Some I believe don't even care how God feels about it when they dishonor His day. They believe it's actually a joke because they believe the Sabbath was done away with. Others however are probably raised one way and haven't seen the light yet; so they don't know what they're actually doing until they receive the knowledge of the truth.

What day is the Sabbath? Fri eve to sat sun down, Sat, or Sun?

What does Keep it holy mean? If you work, then tithe, is that not acceptable? Didn't man decide we shouldn't work on the sabbath. What if One ministers to others during their day at work?

Some have to. We read it as no unnecessary work. Health care workers etc. must work. Jesus said the Sabbath was not meant for God but, for people.

Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath and lives in the hearts of His believers. Everyday with Jesus is the Sabbath.

unfortunately some occupations have to work on the sabbath - remember even Jesus healed on the sabbath. those in particular are:
hoteliers - offering rooms to travelers
hospitals, law enforcement, restuarants, gas stations....

Because if no one worked on any one day, it would be a disaster. Not only could you not buy things like food and gas, people in hospitals would die. Hope your house doesn't catch on fire, because it would burn to the ground with no fire department. I believe in a day of rest, but I don't think it should be on any one day for every person.

Years ago almost nothing was opened om Sunday, but as people became less religious they wanted to do things on Sun. Stores started opening and now its everywhere. Its hard to find a job that doesn't require it now. I have been very selective in applying to jobs that don't require Sun. only.
