Everywhere I look I see young thirteen year olds wearing next to nothing, dancing like the video ho's they see on t.v. an dbehaving completely disgusting for their age. At thirteen they should be playing with barbies and boys should be building forts( thats a little lame, but still!) I mean what is the rush to grow up? i dont understand it. They could care less about sexual diseases and pregnancy1 i know a girl that is pregnant at fifteen! It breaks my heart to see little year girls try to act like grown women and even take it as far as lying about their ages! Is it uncool now for girls to hold onto their innocence until they are at least of age? My gosh, its disheartening. How do you feel about this. No rude answers please.

JIBBA JABBA: the reason why females are beginning to menstrate is because of their diet. A lot of our meat (including cows, chicken, etc.) are injected with hormones. The hormones in livestock help to produce meatier animals. As a result, we eat the meat, ingest the hormones and get bigger faster-- for boys, it's facial hair. for little girls, it's getting breasts, and menstrating sooner.

re your question: look who the role models are. Media promotes sex because "SEX SELLS." We are taught to see that the more we sell our bodies, the more attention we get. Face it, teenage years aren't the easiest. we need attention from our parents, friends, and the opposite sex. If Sex Sells, maybe i'll get everything i need by dressing a certain way. The immature mind, however, cannot comprehend the side affects of having pre-marital sex.

that's why you get 15 year olds with babies. My first friend to have a baby was in the 8th grade. she was 12 i think.

There has always been a time when young girls had sex and got pregnant. Be honest, how old was your grandmother or your great-grandmother when she gave birth the first time? You just hear of it more now because of the diseases that are out there. You would think that would be enough to stop them, but peer pressure is hard to overcome, regardless of what their parents tell them.

I agree with you girl....this world has changed soo much. I remember when I was thriteen I wasn't even thinking abotu sex or boys or anything like that. Hell I couldn't even spell sex or love at that age, lol...But seriously the world has changed and everything on TV, around you or anywhere you go is related to sex so it has a great influence on the minds of the young girls. Which is why it is soo important to teach your children from young about what's right and what's wrong....and what's good and what's bad. But i totally agree with you girl and it make sme sad to see these things happening.....I fear for my children!

If the girls dad or a strong male figure is not around theres a good chance she will not practice proper morals and know the cunning ways of men -her earliest exposure to men is missing ,she needs that male encouragement so she knows her value is not just sexual .a present and attentive dad develops good qualities that a mom, as hard as she tries, cant do all the way .not knocking all the single mommys !we all love you -keep your heads up!

it's because of the environment we live in. modesty and morality is diminishing. parents cannot even control their kids anymore. the more they are strict with them, the more they disobey their parents. communities should go hand in hand to solve this problem. parents cannot solve this alone. although a very supportive family would help. meaning, they should have time to be together and really be a family. and of course plus the school and the church plays a great part too. just my thoughts.

Becuase we live in a highly sexualized society and these young girls (and the boys and MEN who have sex with them) are only reacting to their environment.

Look at what's on TV these days (it ain't the beaver) and listen to what's on the radio and the answer is obvious.

This is society's problem. The behavior of these young children is just a symptom.

B/c of the tv it's evil. Throwing sex appeal at 13 yr olds. Just looks at what Britney Spears has done to kids. It's sad.

Childhood SUCKS with teeth! I for one couldn't wait to grow up either. I just wanted to be old enough to do what I wanted, not what someone forced me to do.

My sympathy is all with them.

Childhood isn't for everyone. Those blissful innocent days aren't everyone's experience.

As for the sex, most would agree it's a good thing I don't have kids, because I just don't think it's the end of the world. Sex as a teen is soooo fun. Granted not that many have the maturity to truly enjoy it. It sounds as if many young girls having sex are doing it for all the wrong reasons, and are allowing themselves to be used.

Welcome to the decay of America! This is getting scary! I think it's because sex is so vilified instead of taught as basic human nature. Most kids these days learn from porn about sexuality. It is so taboo to talk about seriously but its shoved in every ones' face every time you turn on the TV. We are taught to disrespect women so much also. Many actually take it too! That is what disturbs me. No offense to women, women are beautiful and should be treated well.

Cite references, please.

I'm 44yo & I have seen no difference between now & 30 years ago, when I was in school.

There has always been a tendency to say "x was better in my day", to assume things are worse today, when that very well may be wrong.
