We are getting ready to put down new carpet. The dogs ruined our carpet, but now are house trained. Is there something we can put between the carpet and padding? Or is there special padding we can put down?In case of accidents. We are hoping with the new carpet they will no longer mess on it? What do you think?
Thank-You,
Vanora

There is padding the is RESISTANT to fluids. It has a platic film on the top of it. Just ask your carpet store about it.

No, trust me, just go with the regular padding.

However, I've found great results with dog accidents by using this stuff called Simple Solution (and there's something else called nature's miracle same kinda formula), its a liquid that contains enzymes, clean up as much of the "accident" as you can and then wet down the carpet with it (or whatever) and when this stuff dries, there's no stink, no leftover oops and it wont show up on the black light (which by the way, does work but you have to have the room completely dark).
I think it cost me 20$ or so for a gallon.

Oh how I wish.. I know of NO padding that is resistant to urine...... There is a material that you could get to put on the padding but be careful.. It traps any moisture that might get below it and it could cause mold/rot/etc

URINE RESISTANT???? Aren't you changing the padding? Why put down another rug if the dogs are still peeing in the house? Put down laminate flooring.

They are dogs, They will mess your carpet, by definition.

Do you really want a urine resident living under your rug?
