My step-daughter's biological mother was cruel, distant and abusive to her while treating the younger two daughters by the same father completely the opposite because she blamed the oldest for "having to marry" and "losing her freedom".
My step-daughter now has three wonderful boys who respect her, honor her and practically worship her. She babysits other children, teaching them to respect their parents as well. She's a wonderful wife and mother who has completely seperated her mother's treatment of her from how she has raised her own children.
An abusive mother is not a guarantee that the children will be the same or that their sexual persuasion will be influenced. Each person is given all the tools they'll ever need to have a happy, productive life, a destructive, miserable life or something in between. How they use what they're given is ultimately up to that person, not the people in their past. After all, check out the books starting with "A Child Called It" by David Pelzer.

I was raised by a mother like that and I think I turned out to be a good productive citizen in society. However, I do have some mental health issues.

Usually the girls end up working on poles with a lot of lights and mirrors in the background; and guys can be mean to their own wives and children.

They have a bad childhood, yes. But when they become adults and still use that excuse for all the current problems in their life.....it's bull. If you are an adult using that excuse---you need to take responsibility for YOUR actions. Mommy isn't causing your problems anymore---you are.
