My husband reckons that a glass of orange juice helps neutralise the garlic smell. Try that followed by a mouthwash, and then suck mints or chew gum for the first part of the date until you've fed her some garlic too. Try a pack of mint tic-tacs - then you offer them to her as well and appear sweet! (Unless she thinks you are saying that her breath smells in which case big thumbs-down).

I would brush my teeth first and use one of those tongue scrapers if you can (most of the bacteria that causes bad breathe is on the tongue), then I would definately use some Listerine mouthwash to wash out your mouth (works really well and is a staple in my house), then I would get some gum and chew that throughout the date! Hope I helped! Good Luck.

Don't eat garlic, knowing you have a hot date one hour later?

1. brush your teeth
2. mouthwash
3. eat apple/parsley
in that order! but best to avoid garlic anywhere near a hot date as nothing gets rid of the smell that much (especially on your skin)

Eat raw parsley - works every time. You have to chew it though before swallowing and it gets rid of the garlic smell completely. xx

In Spain they say chew fresh parsley, but probably just brush your teeth. For the future, if you're the one doing the cooking, remove the greenish centre inside the clove, that's what makes your breath smell.

If you are going on a dinner date then make sure your date eats garlic too. Then you can both be oblivious to each others stink!

I would recommend gargling and rinsing with Listerine Fresh Burst mouthwash after you brush your teeth. Also use a very light cologne, like Red for Men or Dune for Women
