You can get a US passport rush but I think you have to show that you are travelling ASAP and have to have it that soon, so like a plane ticket leaving within 3-days. You'll probably have to use one of the facilitators, just search overnight passport on the web, will be around $250-300 with passport costs and facilitator costs. Call your local City Clerk's office for exact details on other possible methods.

To get a UK Passport renewed on the same day will require you to make an appointment to see the nearest Passport Office and cost £108.

It is impossible to receive a US passport in a day. Even if you get it rushed it will take at least 1.5 week (unless you are overseas and you had lost your passport).
But you need to make your question more specific being you did not say from what country you need a passport and there are English speakers from many countries here.

It's recently gone up it's now £108 to have it processed in one day - you have to make an appointment. Alternatively, you can fast track it in a week, again by appointment and that costs £91.
