Men and women do not shake hands, in Muslim culture. No shake hands at all in Hindu Culture. The Eskimos are reported to be rubbing noses than shaking hands.

Hand shake is not religious, but cultural thing

in gulf, middle east and India hand shake is not a part of culture

Indians prefer a namaste with folded hands (people in far east also do same.)

Buddhist greet one another with the 'namaskara or anjali' hand gesture or 'mudra'. Hand shaking is considered unsanitary.
