And just for your info. Jesus never called himself son of GOd once in the bible. though he did refer to GOD as the father. It was men who called him son of GOD. Jesus was referred to as son of man. Others(the ones who wrote the books) called him son of GOD. But jesus never called himself that. He was emanuel or son of man. Or the christ if you prefer.

Nacman: I already said that jesus refers to GOD as the father, though he never referred to himself as son of GOD. But son of man. Not even when he was judged did he say he was son of GOD. According to the bible.

Most people do not understand the unity of God. GOD is even more ethereal than ethereal,Spiritual, beyond the minds ability to discribe, yet we try. You are a hue-man being, spirit, a being of light made in the image and likeness of GOD,your purpose is being. it could be said that you are a very sophisticated holograph of God..God communicates with humanity on whatever level needed,as you cited above, using names as necessary. we are all one with the one God of all ages and all people,as water is water be it in a raindrop or an ocean.

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is One and the same God as Jesus. It is a mystery. A mystery is not a puzzle for you to figure out, but something you enter into, which transcends your intelligence, but is not opposed to reason. What is hidden in the Old Testament is revealled in the New Testament.
Exodus 3:14 - God says "I AM who I AM" - John 8:58 - Jesus says "Before Abraham was, I AM" in reference to Himself.
2 Sam. 22:3 - God is the horn of salvation - Luke 1:68-69 - Jesus is the horn of salvation.
Psalm 24:10 - the Lord is the King of glory - 1 Cor. 2:8 - Jesus is the Lord of glory.
Psalm 62:12 - the Lord God renders to each according to his work - Matt. 16:27; Rev. 22:12 - Jesus so renders to each according to his work.
Psalm 148:1-2 - the angels worship the Lord God - Heb. 1:6 - the angels worship Jesus. Only God is worshiped.

They worshipped the same God that we worship. Jesus is the second person of the Trinity. There are three persons in one God; God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. They are all one God. Kinda like multiple personalities. Jesus was not created by God. Jesus has always been. In Jn 3:16-17 it states that God "sent" His Son into the world. Jesus tells us in Jn 30:10 "The Father and I are one." And in Jn 14:9 Jesus says "Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father."

Please tell me where people get the idea that Christians believe that God and Jesus are the same. God is the Father, Jesus is the Son. We are to acknowledge both and worship both. The Holy Spirit is a separate spirit. When Jesus was baptized three separate persons made an appearance or their presence known. Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. What is so hard to understand?

Before the birth of Christ the Jews (Abraham, Noah, Lot, Job, David, Solomon, Elijah.. etc. ) worshiped God the Father. They followed the laws given to them from God through Moses in the ten commandments and through Judaic Tradition. This is the old covenant. Jesus Christ is the new and everlasting covenant of God. At the last supper Jesus made it clear that He is the new covenant that will last forever. Also remember that Jesus is the Word of God made into flesh. The Word existed before the creation of the world and came into being in the fullness of time or when God deemed it right. This means that Jesus is God since he chose to born among men in time in order to save us from eternal death.

Jesus is the Son of God, but as part of the trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, He is one with God the Father. We are called to be one with Christ, who is our salvation and everlasting life.
The God of the old testament is the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, known as Eloheim or Jehovah.
Jesus incarnated as redeemer of mankind, bridging the divide between God and man forever, for those who would even believe upon His name.
Peace!

Hmm, there are many like myself who don't believe Jesus is God. And to answer your question, the early Israelites were pagan and worshipped many gods. Chief among them was Baal. After the destruction of the twelve tribes where only two survived, the Israelites slowly coalesced to believing in one.
But this was way after the characters figures in Genesis who worshipped the one God we're familiar with, the debate of Jesus being God notwithstanding.

Duhhhh, they worshiped God.....
God is three in one, it`s called trinity..... there`s God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit...
Ex. The egg has three parts, the yoke, the white part, and the shell, this three make up 1 egg.
Ex. The sun has three parts too, the sun itself, the rays and the heat. We could see it as:
the sun, God, the rays, Jesus, and the heat, the Holy Spirit....
Back in Abraham`s time they worshiped God, they didn`t know about Jesus or the Holy Spirit,

Yes, Jesus was God, John 1.
Before 'Christ', what were people (such,as Abraham, Noah, enoch, etc) worshipping? The Lord; the Lord Jesus Christ. (Tidbit; apparently Christ is from the Greek Christos, whereas the Hebrew would be Messiah).
