The reason that the Christians invented the unforgiveable blasphemy thing is because the church elders realized that people like... me... will never be brainwashed by them again. It's impossible once you know the truth.

Therefore, they want to keep people like... me... at arm's length, because they know if their cult members talk to your average atheist for any extended amount of time, the brainwashing will lose its grip.

Blasphemy of God the Holy Spirit isn't forgiven in this age or in the age to come. I believe this means that there are immediate consequences. Calling the fruit / gifts of the Holy Spirit evil is done enouph. Calling good evil or evil good is an abomination to God. People suffer consequences immediately. This is how I understand it.

Jesus shed blood covers all our sins.

Also, God will turn us over to tormenters if we don't forgive others. We need to forgive others because Jesus forgive us all our sins. That means forgive & forget.

JP You cannot be filled with the Holy Spirit by purchasing it. The Holy Spirit is given to the born of God Christians.

Yes there is a limit to God's forgiveness. Sins agains the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven in this world or in the next is what Jesus says in the Gospels. Other than that His mercy is endless for those who sincerely repent.

It depends on what sense you ask the question. In the end, there will be people who go to Hell because they have not been forgiven, so yes, there are sins God won't forgive.

On the other hand, there is no action you can take which is a sin so haneous that God would refuse to forgive *that* action.

God's Forgiveness - What's Required?
The Bible gives us the costly requirement for God's forgiveness: "Without the shedding of Blood, there is no forgiveness" (Hebrews 9:22). In the Old Testament, the continual sacrifices of unblemished lambs were required to satisfy God's wrath and judgment. However, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on a Roman cross and became the ultimate, once-and-for-all sacrifice for our sins. Jesus purchased God's forgiveness on our behalf when he became the Lamb of God and died on the cross for you and me.

"For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God" (1 Peter 3:18). "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace" (Ephesians 1:7).
