I gave my bridesmaids earrings and a handkerchief with their name embroidered on it, the handkerchiefs were handmade and the stitching hand done as well. Very elegant, very pretty.
My husband gave his groomsmen cuff links.

For my wedding, we only had my maid of honor and my husband's best man. Since the 4 of us have known each other since 3 grade, all in the same class. We knew each others personalities. My husband and I decided to go against tradition and we got them things that were more humorous and personal. For the best man, we got him a few books out of the Uncle John's Bathroom Reader collection, and we wrote little messages inside the front cover of each. For my maid of honor, I made her a CD of music that had meaning to us, it was from all different genres, but each song had meaning behind it. I also wrote a note on the inside cover of the jewel case. They loved their gifts and everyone that found out about them thought it was a different but good idea.

I only had a best man and maid of honor in my wedding, but i gave the maid of honor a cute monogrammed tote bag with comfy but stylish slippers in it (for the wedding day after being in heals all day) a gift cert. for a massage and a mani pedi gif cert. the best man got two tickets to a sporting even of his choice and dinner. In general i think a gift card geared towards the persons interests is nice or any gift geared towdards the persons interest. I gave my sister in law(who was reading a poem for us) a book with a silver monogrammed bookmark because she likes to read.

I just got married a month ago, I got my bridesmaids a necklace and earring set that matched their dresses, and we got the groomsmen beer mugs with their names on them. There are all different things you can get.

I wanted something different for my girls as well. I bought them handkerchiefs. They were personalized and each came with a little poem telling them how much they meant to me. I even got one for my Mother-In-Law and my mom. Can't remember the website but you can just type in handkerchiefs and you'll get a ton of websites.

Don't give the box... That's cheap! Give the jewelery!
I gave mine cultured pearl necklaces and earring sets (about $100.00 each). Not stupid expensive, but nice enough for a gift. The men got silver & gold money clips. a little cheaper but who cares, they are men...
