Does it always seem the closer you try and get to Jesus your flesh seems to always pull you the other direction. Have you ever wondered if anyone in the bible has had the same problem? Well Paul did. Even King David did, but I can identify with paul more on the flesh. Read Romans 7:15-24. Paul understood that in the flesh he was losing but if he let the Holy Spirit fight that battle he could win. We can't overcome our flesh but God can.

i dont knwo someone who hasnt. here is why... satan does not want us close to god. we are sinful by nature, and satan works with that like non other. when he sees that he is loosing us he tried harder to grab a hold of us. the same as he did with jesus in the desert. water, food, riches... those are all thigns that would make us fall also.

Sounds like you might benefit from the course in miracles. It teaches this idea that you are discussing in great detail, and shows you how best to overcome these problems so you can become closer to God.

It teaches you how to connect with the holy spirit in ways that the flesh can not interfere with.

Puts Paul's sparse comments on this to shame.
