Fish contains oils that will help nourish your skin. This diet includes fish options at lunch and dinner to add luster and softness to your complexion.

• Ground flaxseeds are an excellent source of omega-three fatty acids, which promote good skin health. This meal plan adds flaxseed to your breakfast cereal for a healthy start to your day.

• Vitamin A is essential for healthy skin. This diet includes plenty of dark orange (carrots, sweet potatoes, winter squash) and dark green (broccoli, spinach, kale) vegetables -- all of which are high in vitamin A.

• Vitamin E helps promote great skin, which is why this diet includes nuts such as hazelnuts and almonds -- which are high in vitamin E -- as snacks.

Ongoing research is beginning to show a link between a relatively nutritious diet and improved skin tone. It has been shown that people suffering from malnutrition show obvious signs of increased aging because of vitamin deficiencies but what extent diet plays a role in the overall aging process has yet to be determined (but it can't hurt to eat sensibly). Again, there is unanimous agreement that drinking 8 glasses of water per day improves the beauty of your skin.

Frequent weight gains and losses can also dramatically affect the elasticity of the skin. When the weight is gained, the skin stretches to accommodate the excess weight. When a lot of weight is lost, quickly, the skin doesn't have time to accommodate the changing contours and sagging and premature wrinkling can occur. Gradual weight loss should not impact the skin, although a reduced calorie diet can cause the skin to look dull and lifeless unless the diet is well balanced.

The skin ages due to the deterioration of the elastic tissues (composed of elastin and collagen). In most cases, the skin becomes dry/dehydrated, age spots occur and some people notice small broken capillaries. Premature aging can be prevented to some extent by a daily skin care program, and well balanced diet and avoiding things that are known to speed the aging process. One of the best preventative measures you can take is to drink 8 eight ounce glasses of pure water a day - STAY HYDRATED FOR HEALTHY SKIN!

Your diet can affect your skin, over the long run. Eating foods high in antioxidants (strawberries, peppers, blue berries etc) will help destroy free radicals before they harm your skin and help slow down aging and wrinkling.
However, the idea that eating certain foods can cause acne is a myth. Lots of studies have shown that eating chocolate, greasy foods etc do not cause blemishes. Acne is caused by bacteria and stress, not food.

Not a myth. Your diet (aka eating habits) are directly related to the condition of your skin. The more processed, sugary, "bad foods" you eat, the worse your skin can look. There are a ton of foods to avoid, too many to list. Just use common sense and your best judgement. Also, eating foods rich in antioxidants will help make your skn more radiant and healthy.

Yes, diet does affect your skin and nails. If you eat anything with a lot of sodium in it, such as fast food or anything canned, it will dehydrate you. Stay away from those foods. Eat more fruits and fresh veggies. And drink lots and lots of water

Yes, I didn't believe so until I started juicing and cut out the junk food, fast food, refined flour and sugars....it was amazing. Buy a Jack LaLanne juicer but use the Jay Kordich recipe book. Good Luck!!!

Not true at all. My friend eats really bad(yet somehow she's still really skinny) & I eat really healthy, yet I still have acne. Acne has to do with your hormones and all that, so it's deffinitly a myth.

Yes, it does!! Some of the best things you can do include: drinking a lot of water; using a pure moisturizer (without coloring or parabens); staying away from foods with preservatives, colors, and additives; and make sure to inundate your diet with lots of fresh and raw vegetables and fruits.

Good luck!

I believe certain drinks has cause and effect on your skin.

Observe the following:

Caffeine dehydrates you. Avoid it! Even avoid the decaffeinated versions of these drinks, coffee, colas, dr.pepper.

Alcohol causes dehydration too. Don't ever touch a drop of it!

Dryness leads to flaky, wrinkly skin.

Stay out of the sun, use sun protection. Always when out in the sun.

yes, your diet affects your skin...Not eating all the vitamins and minerals you need could make your skin look sallow and listless.
It's not a point for you to avoid any, it's that you need to add to your diet.
