Since, there seems to be more white than black. i would go with another dark or rich color. Like a red. just about anything will go with white. You just need a color that will match up with the black without contrast.

Red always goes well with black and white. Have you thought of getting a zebra patterned rug and accessories? A lot of the Home Depot/Canadian Tire/Walmart type stores carry a very wide selection of bathroom accessories. The zebra style might look pretty cool.

I once had and black and white bathrm. I chose red as the accent color. Beautiful! The nice thing about black and white is that you can change towel and rug colors to suit your mood. Anything but beige. Bright colors are best.

Well, that would all depend on how you would like your bathroom to feel like everytime that you are in it. The idea of a black and white bathroom is classic. It never goes out of style...so you can pretty much put any color of rug you feel like because they will go with your walls and floor.having something green or blueish is always refreshing to the eye. or try something bold like dark red....stricking colors are always fun too...enjoy...i hope you decide what color to use....

I think black rugs would be ok, it doesn't sound like there's alot of black in the room. you definitely don't want white rugs, they will get so dirty. Plus bathroom rugs don't normally cover the entire floor.

I like the idea of a black and white bathroom :)

Sage green and white are fresh, natural colours that would be nicely complimented by other garden like hues such as lavender, yellow, or even turquoise. Use white and deeper shades of your sage green also in your accesories if you like. The best way to tie together your mix of colours is to find a patterned wallcovering, shower curtain or towels, and pull out the seperate colours and use them in solid colour towels, rugs etc. The colours in your pattern will now dictate your colour scheme choices and you will be sure that it all will work together. This approach also works well in a bedroom, where I recommend you find patterned bedding first and then pull your favorite colours out of it and use them in your paint, carpet, etc.

after seeing so many different answers, what can I tell you...I gues you need to decide yourself. You are the one who will like it or dislike. I personally like theidea of black if the bathroom is not very small or a nice shade of red...but it is my oppinion. maybe it would be good to think about other details in the bathroom (towels, cups, soap holders, maybe even a plant pot..etc.) to follow the color of the rug...i think it could be nice.

maroon ( a deep rich red, almost burgundy)

and even bright red would look good. That's a classic look, black and white, you can use just about any color, but I prefer the reds
