Because you are lacking melanin in your skin...it is the protein that makes people tan..if you totally didn't have any you would be albino...and if you are always wearing an spf you are not going to tan because the sunsreen protects you against it...

Yeah! Stay out of the sun! It is not good for the skin and ages it quickly. Five minutes a day is OK. Wear spf 15! Believe me I am 35. The women I know who spent so much time in the sun look WAY oldser than me now. If you think it is OK because you are young well it is not, you get one face, don't dry it all aout and wrinkle it all up! Try Oil of Olay tanner, it is gradual, looks very natural, not orange or streaky. Take care! Oh, yeah, while you are at it, no age it too early to start moisturizing the face morning and night. Believe me, 20 yrs from now you will be so glad you did!!

The SPF is preventing you from burning but at the same time slowing down the tanning process. Try using 5 SPF instead. It'll still protect your skin but it should allow you to tan easier. Also, are you in the sun for under 20-30 minutes? 30 minutes or more for each side a few times a week and you'll have a great tan by the end of one month.

I'm like that too... try going to a tanning salon and getting something with a bronzer and it might help you out a bit... however make sure not to stay out to long with that stuff because there isn't and SPF in it

Try self-tanner. It's a lot safer than being out in the sun soaking up all those UV rays trying to get tan.

wow you sound like me, well except i would burn if i was out too long. i only get a tan on my arms and one day it goes from tan to white. any place i burn i go from red to white the next day. maybe you should try those fake tan sprays. there are some good ones out there

I'm sure you are a beautiful person, you don't need a tan. Be proud of who you are and don't change anything that you was born with.
