They aren't worth it, you could haveheart attack or stroke. Better to just get up and go for a nice long walk every day to give the metabolism a natural boost.

It depends upon which ones, your medical background and how you use them.
Most are quite similar in that their purpose is to curb your appetite. Most of them are stimulants of one sort or another and those with high blood pressure, hypertension diabetes, or who might be pregnant SHOULD ALWAYS check with their doctor and generally should not be taking them. That having been said -
It depends upon the pill and the specific ingredients . Most healthy people suffer no ill effects when they take them properly but some adverse reactions could include diarrhea, heart palpatations, and an increase in blood pressure, dizziness (from raised blood pressure) gas, anxiety and nervousness
If you are already on a good fitness program and working on healthy habits, they may be a good addition to your regimen
For people who use them as a "magic pill" without using them as a part of a healthy diet and exercise program, well, you might as well toss your money in the fire and your biggest side effect will be that you will gain your weight back .. and then some
If you lose the weight by not eating, not only will you suffer metabolic side effects from muscle loss and the body going into "deprivation mode" but.. as soon as you start eating again.. the weight will come back - and then some

The most common side affects of diet pills are, more constant bowel movement, and can affect your heart, and can raise your blood pressure. Also, once you have stopped taking the pills, your body will most likely put back on the weight, thus making a crash diet. So be careful if your considering.

Different side effects for different pills. Some are more severe than others. It also depends if you are talking about prescription vs. herbal supplements. The supplements I am taking have one side effect and that is losing weight (LOL). Common side effects are jittery, nervous feelings, nausea, heart irregularities. Again, it depends on the pill.
I've been taking a supplement and haven't had any side effects, so it all depends on what you are talking about.

In addition to side effects while you're taking them, there are long-term effects when you stop. They speed up your metabolism for the short-term, but then your metabolism is stunted and slower when stop taking them. Be careful--they're a recipe for a yo-yo diet and not a way to lose weight for good.
