I think its an excellent idea. The meatballs will be delicious. If your family doesnt want em send em over to me.Or, better yet, why not invite me over for dinner? You said you like to cook, right? Well, I LOVE to eat. I'll be waiting for your invitation.

Sometimes I do that.. I will take the raw sausage and take it out of the casing. And add that to the Meatball mix. Try using a Meatloaf mix meat for meatballs gives them a different taste too. (Ground Veal, Pork and Beef is a meatloaf mix. I get it from my butcher)Taste Delish!!!! Most of the time I take the meat out of 2 sausages and put it in my gravy!

I do it all the time, sometimes I even sub ground turkey and turkey sausage... And if you are a Rachel Ray fan I saw her mix the two the other day for meatloaf and she said she sometimes does the same for meatballs... enjoy.....

oh cooking tip if you don't already do this... i cook my meatballs on a wire rack usually set in a casserole dish (to catch the drippings) in the oven at 350 until cooked thru... it helps cut calories and fat by letting the fat cook off rather than cooking them in the fat

Have a GREAT day!

Yes, they make lovely meatballs - they also make a good meatloaf!

For that something different I sometimes mix through some chopped up bacon.......mmmmmmmm

Serve with egg noodles instead of spaghetti..................go on, you know you want to!

Just don't make a big deal out of it or tell them any difference about what you're doing - wait until after!

By the way - I've also taken to grating a carrot through my meatloaf...mmmmm it seems to keep it more moist..

I like it I use the sweet Italian sausage with my ground beef. I also like to make the meat balls and but them on a broiler pan and bake the meat balls so the grease will drain to the bottom of the broiler pan. Sausage has a lot of grease in it and you don't want that in your sauce

yep, they are delicious!! I make them that way and my family likes them better. I make meatball soup and use a blend of ground pork and turkey also. Still very good. They won't even tell a difference I am sure. Good Luck!!

yes. lwhen I do that I usually get a lean roast & have it ground & if it is for Italian food, I like to use the Italian variety of sausage either hot or mild & I brown them in a little olive oil with some garlic cloves chopped

The best thing to do with a sausage and hamburger mix is make stuffed green peppers. You put rice in the sausage and hamburger and tomatoe sauce then fill hollowed out green peppers with it and bake... this is like my FAVORITE dish!!!

Sounds good! We mix a little bit of raisins into our meatballs. That is very yummy and adds to the moisture content of the meatball.

Absolutely, it's actually a pretty common mixture, and the sausage adds a little spicy zip to the taste.
