A rindworm on the scalp should be able to be treated with anything that would treat a ringworm anywhere else. by some lotrimin and put on it. you can use the same thing you use for athletes foot to treat ringworms. Just make sure you actually get the ointment/creme on the ringworm itself, not all in your hair.

Ringworm on Scalp Treatment
Self-Care at Home
Sometimes, scalp ringworm can heal without treatment, but consulting a doctor is advised. To ensure timely management of the infection, it must be treated with a course of oral antifungal medications. Shaving the scalp is unnecessary.
Shampoo with selenium sulfide (2.5%) or zinc pyrithione (1-2%) used 2-3 times weekly at home can help decrease shedding of spores and should be used together with the oral medications. Shampoos containing selenium sulfide include Head & Shoulders Intensive Treatment, Selsun, Selsun Blue, and Selsun Gold for Women.
Oral steroids can also be added for severe inflammatory types of scalp ringworm.

When tinea, the type of fungus that causes "ring worm", infects the scalp(and hair follicles), it is very difficult to cure with a topical treatment. You will likely need an oral anti-fungal such as Sporanox, Lamasil, of griseofulvin.
